Winmau Dartboard Surround/Wall Protector - $47.99 Shipped from SportsDirect UK eBay (Save 39%)

Had our first 'proper' game of Darts at a friends place last weekend and really enjoyed it so decided to look into getting a Dartboard of our own plus another as a gift but wanted a surround to protect the walls from stray darts as we didn't want to mount the board in a cabinet or install a backboard etc. These surrounds seem to be better than others as they are foam yet have a tough layer on the back to stop the dart from damaging the wall whereby others are just all foam. Winmau is one of the best brands of Dartboards & Accessories and as these are usually over $70 this seems to be a good price. No extra Postage for additional items too so my two surrounds set me back $86 inc. Postage!

Now all I need is a deal on a couple of Blade4 Dartboards and some Darts to go with them :)

These are good… If you are good (and guests are good) enough to consistently hit the board.

Given that you often have a tasty alcoholic beverage in have when playing, misses are inevitable.

If you want to save your walls, especially if you rent, 3mm mdf from bunnings behind the board is your best bet!

    • Yeah, for a beginner with a drink in the other hand I only missed the board a few times on the weekend which surprised me and those misses were all in the area these guards cover but our friends didn't have a guard so we just added to the few holes that were already there ;) Funnily enough, even though they have been playing for years they too had a few misses… but they were drinking far faster than me ;)

We had a board at a sharehouse in the back room and even with 120x90 mdf there were still holes on the wall and wooden floor mostly due to drunk guests and (not trying to be sexists) girls who have never played before. Made it so it could be taken down for rent inspection, and just used white out pen to cover the marks.

Also put something down on the floor if it is wood, cork, bare concrete etc when you play
