Not bad for a basic wireless keyboard and mouse combo.

  • The low shipping cost makes this deal (~$6 to Melbourne), there are many on staticice for a similar price but have terrible shipping costs. None of it matters if you live close enough to pick it up though.

  • Not bad but if you can wait 2 months Microsoft will have its cash back promotion on again most likely and you will be able to buy the Wireless 800 keyboard and mouse set for $4 per less.

  • Got this set for $21 few months ago, a cheap compact keyboard + mouse

  • Pretty good combo set. Believe I picked a set up a Woolworths for $18 last year - haven't actually tried it myself but I don't believe these can be paired to a Unifying receiver.

    • You're right. They are locked to the receiver they come with and the receiver can't be used with any other device either (not even another MK220 combo).
I have 2 of these combos and they are excellent for use in tight space situations as the the keyboard is the same width as my notebook.
If using your dearly loved Eneloops, battery life is vastly less than they quote.
However NiMh k/b batteries last me around 4-6 months of quite heavy use and using same in mouse can go 4-12 weeks depending on amount of work.

      Downsides I have found are:
the key cap printing can wear off (hence owning 2 sets)
the mouse battery cover gets loose after a time
the anti-friction pads are paper thin and wear out/falloff after about a year or so

Having said that, I still can't find a better combo for my needs without spending a veritable fortune.

  • Every now and then the higher model MK270R can be had for under $20.

I got it for $21.15 during the last eBay 20% off sale being quite proud of myself, but was told at the time it has been under $20.

This current deal is certainly good if in a hurry, otherwise I'd wait around a bit longer.

    • u mean on sale at Harvey Norman eBay or other eBay?

      • Nah, actually mine came from TGG eBay, I actually posted the deal ($21.15) when I got the feedback that the price had been even lower in the past :)

Strangely enough, sales on the bigger model MK270R seem to occur more often than this one.

Either way, $20 for a decent KB & Mouse, can't really go wrong.

        • the MK270R is better designed imo. MK220 looks pretty bare-boned.

dang TGG currently $44.95. guess i'll wait around

        • @jaxon:

I can't fault the quality of my 270, it's been great. Luckily keyboards go on sale regularly. If you can wait, do so.

        • @jaxon: Correct, we have an MK270, had an MK320 and have 2 x MK220.
The build quality and +/- features stated above.
Even though the bigger brothers of the MK220 are better built, I still prefer the MK220 (being a minimlaist).

        • @jaxon:

I thought you might be interested, MK400 $27 at MSY

I don't know anything about that model but the price looks good.
