Just saw this in an email from JB. Same deal that seems to pop up from time to time, but a lot better than the RRP :-)

$50 cheaper here. You can use the code SUPERS10 for 10% off at Masters
Or the code ebay10 for binglee to get it $1 cheaper.
not a bargain, was like < $400 last week
V6 was A$407 delivered Australia wide by Binglee. I picked the DC45@A$269 +GC for A$40 to spend at Masters Landsdale, WA last week
Was also $391.44 + delivery (plus an extra 2.5% cash back) from Dick Smith on eBay. Delivery apparently was around $9.50 which means around $401 delivered. That was just $98 cheaper than this deal right now which makes the JB Hi-Fi deal a poor deal in comparison to what it could have been bought for last week. So it seems last week was the right time to buy.
Definitely not a bargain, last week deal was $407 + 2.5% cash back. The whole combination works out to be $397 for V6 Animal. The $499 price mark is standard price for masters & binglee.
Around $401 delivered (before the 2.5% cash back) if bought during the Dick Smith eBay deal last week.
Price aside, can an owner chime in on their experience with these cordless Dysons? I'd guess I'd be looking at this V6 model if I were to buy one. Our current (and very old) Dyson is starting to get tired, I'm thinking a cordless is the future, is there much difference from their corded brothers? Some power sacrifice for convenience is entirely acceptable.
They are designed for spot cleaning or in between cleaning. So if your house is bigger than 2 bedroom house, it will take more than one run depending on how thorough you are in each room. But once you are on top of your cleaning, 20 minutes is more than enough even for a 4 bedroom house as you will be spending less than 2 minutes in each room. They have the power of up to a mid range corded vacuum.
Thanks for the info. Interesting so it will compliment rather than replace my corded Dyson. We're generally on top of the cleaning, it's when the 2yo empties a pack of coco-pops on the lounge room carpet etc that this would could in handy. And since we keep on top of things our 3 rooms only take a few mins each.
Sounds good! I'll wait out for one of the ~$400 deals others have mentioned previously paying.
Yes exactly, they will work along side with your current Dyson.
What is the majority flooring you have in the house so I can give you an idea on which one to get best.
That's the tricky part as I'd be looking at buying this for our future house (as yet unknown). So maybe I need to wait until I buy the house before I pick a vacuum cleaner :)
Though it's quite likely we'll have a house combining pine floor boards and carpeted bedrooms as that the common in the age house we'll be looking at. Presently we have 70% tiles, 30% carpet. Maybe much the same but floor boards.
Honestly didn't think about how this could effect the vacuum type, good to know.
@Click_It: Well with your current house It would be V6 motorhead ( if its all tiles) or V6 absolute if you can afford it. V6 absolute is currently on sale at the moment.
my cordless DC59 has replaced my dyson vaccum cleaner. On a full charge, it is just enough to do our whole house. Luv it.
I've got a Dc54 animal which is none the less in terms of cleaning. I got the DC45 last week through Masters and the suction power is just amazing with its Radic cyclone. When you compare the suction power of DC45 vs V6, it is the same except for the max power suction which lasts 8 mins with 65 for DC45 compared to 100 for the V6. Rest I see no difference why you will need to shell out excess $$ when we already are getting the same suction power for less. Please do compare the technical specs on Dyson website for V6 & DC45. Like you mentioned hand sticks compliment the barrel vacuum.
a lot better than the RRP :-)
No one cares about RRP.
That picture though. That's a freakin' expensive selfie stick :D
the dick smith deal was good, but they barely had enough stock, and going by the timing on the comments, it sold out within 20 minutes on a sunday morning
Same price at Harveys and they have 50 months interest free at moment
Doesn't 50 months interest free cost $25 start up and $5 per month 'admin' fee so it costs $275 to not pay any interest which would be above 10% interest anyway?
Depends if you go GE or GO etc
If you need to take out a loan at HN for a whitegood, you're not the sort of person that should be buying such a thing in the first place.
suction not as good as I thought, just like other expensive hand held. Any large one has better suction. The brush head is the best, not the suction.
Beaten by 1 dollar!
