    Any bargains?

    Hi Roughana,
Yes there will be lots of Bargains as all stock must go! The Store is closing its doors at 8pm Sunday night!

There is at least 20% off all stock store wide.

    • Please provide an example of a bargain. A % off sale is not necessarily a bargain (if the price was high to begin with).

Really, I am trying to be helpful. The deal posting guidelines say:

Deal posts that reference an upcoming sale without information about any specific offer may be unpublished. Please post only when at least a product price or a specific discount is known, and include that in the description. Please note that up to XX% off discounts are not specific discounts.

How can we vote on this when we can't answer

Is this really the best price on the web?

          @Cheap Charlie:
Well said. Unfortunately that is the bad side of Ozbargain, too many people that like to be difficult (probably the best words you can use for them). Clearly people have nothing better to do, must be a sad life….

I guess being a bargain site there can be some real tight people that are worried about wasting a bit of petrol to go check something out themselves.

The amount of % off sales we see on here with not even a blink of an eye and you wana bang on about this one. Go do something productive with your Friday night.

        • @Cheap Charlie:

          Hallway monitor? Are you American?

Oh man shame I'm not near that! Looking at there FB page they have some pretty interesting beers to try

And sorry for whatever misfortunes resulted in the close down.

Give us some of your best specific examples mate. We have all been burnt before by inflated prices being brought down to DM/1st prices with said discount.

I'm here now. They're giving me 40% off nice unusual imported beers, 35% off wines and 20% off spirits. Wines and beers are good value, I'm spending a few hundred for some novelty beers and good Christmas presents.

    Thanks for posting

Edit for specifics: Most of the beers I'm buying can't be bought at the major chains. Not much of a wine drinker so can't say for wine. Spirits not a great bargain for the most part.

Guess examples with comparison to dan murphy might add some credibilty…
We are after bargains not infomercials

If you're not really close, but living in Belconnen (for example), I would prefer to know that there was something good to make an effort to go there for.

Spirits not a great bargain for the most part.

Is precisely the kind of feedback that is useful. Thanks.

didn't mean to offend about the infomercials, but some main stream price comparisons to street prices would be nice, as we do see a lot of % off sales, and if they were originally inflated its not much of a deal. just like if you post for computer gear you might compare to prices from staticice, or msy, etc, it might have been nice to see some mainstream comparisons to some items from other discount retailers like dan murph, to be able to decide if it's worth the drive, especially if you can't check online.

      • The kinds of beers they sell cater to a niche market. If I told you they had a 750mL Californian microbrew in the wee heavy style, in a champagne bottle such that you could take to a nice restaurant or give as a gift, which they normally sell for $36, at 40% off now selling for $21.60, you probably wouldn't think that was a bargain unless you were likely to buy it anyway.

Most of the locals buying beer while I was in there were getting extra dry, Reschs pilsener etc, oblivious to the fact that there were decent European lagers and pilseners on sale for around the same price (Zywiec, Kozel, Łomza). Still should be plenty of stock of the good quality beers if you're near Canberra and prepared to spend a bit of money to get some unusual brews.

  • Picked up Hendricks for $60 if that helps with price comparisons

  • yeah it's $64.95 at dans……..the Hendricks
