    • Yes, I got this from last post

    • However, not a dupe since the original deal was older than 6 months.

        • +8

Not if i beat you first :p

      • +20

Great, because I didn't know about it. Lucky you reposted!

  • +1

    That worked for a @tafensw.net.au

    • USYD already has it too

    • +2

      Post a new deal

  • Worked for Goodstart email address

  • +2

iF YOU ALREADY have an Office365 account then you don't need to do anything to get Office 2016. It will automatically update your Office 2013 to 2016 when it's ready.

    • -3

what if you prefer to keep using 2013 ?

      • +6

You'll get a prompt, which will ask you whether or not you want to update.

        • +6

          I prefer office 2007

        • +4

          @mnermner: we prefer Office 10.

        • +3

I prefer 2010. Version does make a big difference when it comes to Excel.

      • You just asked a legit question. How come you get a neg?

        • +2

          because it's JV.

I understand that he feeds off them.

        • Because he's adb

    • That's good! Was a bit disappointed the other day when I downloaded it from my UTAS email address and it downloaded 2013. Was hoping for 2016 :P

      • That might be because you have an old OS that isn't compatible?

        • Err, no?
          "PC: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 10 Server, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2008 R2"
          Windows 8.1 isn't that old.

        • @Benno123: Well at least on OSX everyone who was on an older version had 2013 downloaded as opposed to '16. Just a suggestion.

      • I am an UTAS alumnus. My UTAS email does not work anymore. Bummer!

  • Wondering if I should get Office 365… I have Office 2013 (bought outright) but want to try 2016 but not sure if the license would end when my course ends…

  • +3

Will the subscription end when your not a student anymore?

    • -2

      Yes

    • depends on your uni and how they handle accounts

  • +6

Why does the working man always get stiffed?

    • +13

      Because you have money :)

      • +2

        Mo money, mo problems!

        • Mofi

    • Not getting something other people work for is not getting stiffed. If you want the benefit, go and study, do the work and pay for the course…..

  • The perks of public education and TAFE.

  • Anybody get this working for teachers in SA?

  • Anyone tried their respective alumni address (if they have one)?

    • -1

      Uni of burkinafaso queries

    • Mine works. @alumni.adelaide.edu.au

      • +2

Also works for ******@cygnus.uwa.edu.au Alumni email address

        • +1

dafuq is cygnus? I thought it was @graduate?

          (Current uwa student asking)

        • @cheesecactus: Cygnus is the latin for swan and was one of a couple of prefixes that were on offer. Its been quite awhile now so it may have changed.

        • @ablokedownthepub: oh cool, thanks

    • Also works for ******@graduate.uwa.edu.au Alumni email address

    • +1

tfw UNSW uses @unswalumni.com for their addresses.

    • Doesn't work for ******@alumni.unimelb.edu.au

      @balwynhs.vic.edu.au works

      lol…

if you can afford the $2 million to buy a house in that zone, you don't need MS-Office for free…

      • +1

Really? I live in a $1.6mil house…which is my parents house. jusf because parents have money doesn't mean they give free money to their kids, and getting free office is definitely helpful for a student

        • -2

doesn't mean they give free money to their kids

          change your parents then…

        • +1

Agreed :) Just because your parents are rich doesn't make the child rich.

  • +2

    uq.net.au not working!!!

  • +2

Damn, why did I pay $99 for the 4 year university edition.

    • +1

Well, you must have got an unlimited storage as I did. This one comes with a lousy 1TB :-)

  • +2

If you download the office 2016 for PC, does it stop working after you stop studying?

    • Probably; unless you are a tutor.

    • no, heaps of alumni addresses work

  • +1

for anyone who is not a student and doesn't want to pay for office. i can recommend LIBRE open office (I downloaded it this week as an alternative to office) i was looking for alternatives to office and came across it. it works good for my need's. just no email client but i use windows live mail as a FREE alternative to outlook. and i also don't mind using the email client that came with windows 10.

    • Thunderbird is a decent email client, but who still uses one?

      • Anyone who doesn't want their email living only on the cloud.

      • I still use Thunderbird.

        • +1

          Thunderbirds are Go !!!

      • I use one as I have multiple email accounts and logging in to each one manually is time consuming and a pain in the arse. With a client (I use both Outlook and Thunderbird) it automatically logs in and checks them all at once.

        • +1

Yeah but you can set Gmail to do that for you, and access your email anywhere

        • @Jackson:
Really? I'm going to have to look into that a bit more, would be very helpful when traveling.

        • @Evil-Elmo: my oath, only way to go

        • @Evil-Elmo:
and yahoo, and outlook.com/hotmail and just about every other webmailer these days.

  • I've got an error saying that my pc is running 64 bit version and I am installing 32. There is no link to 64 one. Anyone has the same problem?

    • uninstall your previous version of office, it asks you to in the dialog box

    • I had the problem, just change X86 to X64 on the download url and download again

      • There is 1 INSTALL NOW button on the page only. The page is https://portal.office.com/Home# . There is no url to change. Have you got a different download URL?

        • Yes, press the install now button. The you browser will start downloading the file. Go to your browser downloads. Right click on the downloaded file and copy url and paste it on the address bar. Then change the X86 to X64 and hit enter.

Also you can do this way http://imgur.com/c7JvQuZ

Update just now saw the below comment silly me.

    • +2

On the main Office 365 Portal page, above the "Install now" button click on "Change" next to the language option. Under "version" click "Advanced" and select 64 bit.
Pretty silly of Microsoft to hide this important option under language selection.

      • It worked. You're legend. Thanks mate.
And yes it's silly. Kinda Change language is about language, right? means not a version. Good to have ya :)

  • Thanks OP! Last time I saw the deal, my email address didn't work. This time it does, though.

  • I forgot about this up until the other day. I downloaded it for my Mac, registered it with my Curtin University email and have since put it on my iPhone 6 Plus too!

  • Boo, tried my Sydney Uni @uni.sydney.edu.au sign in but was told the IT department has switched off the sign in process now.

    • Sydney uni's student email account already has office365 as default. Not sure what you mean.

    • that probably means you already have access to it all and you dont need to sign up, the uni has already done it for you.
Have the same thing with university of newcastle
