  • I love an Nissan Fabric Sale, but I wish I could get a cheaper Car :(

  • Cars….not cards….. :\

    • :) updated

  • Hmm… can I get a Pulsar SSS with that :-)

  • any bargains?
or actually interesting cars apart from the GTR?

  • +1

You end up paying more for the car.. The interest is subsidised by the dealer.

    • Agree…

I remember shopping for a car and was first asked if I am taking up the 0% interest loan. been hinted that my "discount" will be bigger if paying upfront.

In 2013 I purchased a Nissan Navara on 1% finance. I negotiated the price then made the contract conditional on Nissan 1% finance deal. I paid the same for the car as if I were paying with cash. It is costing me $640 in interest over 3 years…

This is a very good deal

        • +1

You may get a bigger discount if the financing deal was not offered. I mean, the banks not gonna lend at 1%, so it has to come from some where. Just saying.

Sorry Nissan, after never sending me my gift card from this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102313. You are dead to me.

    • Not sure if joking or if you actually went for the test drive and didn't receive it?

      • I went for a test drive and rang them after the time the promo terms and conditions said that I should receive it by. They said they will call me back but never did. I am too lazy to chase it since I didn't have any evidence that I did the test drive. I just stop looking at Nissan cars and steer my friends away from buying Nissan cars.

Haha perfect! Not like you're bitter about it or anything….:p

Officeworks won't pricebeat I've already tried guys.

    • Have you tried Bunnings Warehouse yet ?

Try toysrus! They sell all kind of cars. You get further $5 off for birthday. Just kidding. :-)

    driveaway price of $62,918.00

They already made their money here when you agreed to purchase the car for above price. Bear in mind, if you think you can haggle on the purchase price and get the 1% offer, you are out of luck.

I managed to get them down to $50k for a ST-L 4WD earlier this year. Eventually bought a Ti 4WD for $54k. Mind you, this was fleet pricing…. salary sacrificed.

      • Pathfinder Ti

    Doesn't apply to GTR

How do they expect to sell any when they are constantly trying to rape their high value clients? Not making enough $ on their 6-figure products? lol

Anytime there are exceptions, you can be almost certain it is a bad deal. Sorry OP

Some decent cars in the lineup but all ruined by CVT… not going to touch them. Unfortunately seems like a lot of manufacturers are also heading down that path.

    • +1

Most of them are moving away. Nissan stuffed this one up big time.

      • What u mean by moving away and stuff up? Thought Nissan was good. Saw some good review on pulsar

        • +1

I've bot a B17 Pulsar, great car and good value for money except the CVT transmission is… so… LAGGY.

      • +1

Seem to be moving towards CVT from what I can see.

There is a market for CVT, the Tida for example - it makes sense. Nobody expects any performance from the Tida.

But the SUV's etc. people want a bit of up and go.

  • Damn, when I saw the title of this post I was actually going to buy a GT-R….guess not now.

  • It's a three year term loan with a big balloon payment at the end. Yuk!!!

    • +2

The final balloon depends on your payments. You can spread it over 36 months for the total value and zero balloon - or have some residual as a balloon option at the end. I did similar deal 3 years ago with my dad's car and paid $300 interest. However, the car could have been bought for $3k less if I didnt finance it, so it works out to be the same anyway..

      • +1

I didnt pay more 2 years ago. Negotiate the price then tell them you are going to finance it… I paid well under retail and decided on a 50% baloon payment. I could pick what ever baloon I liked, 0% to 90% with a 1, 2 or 3 year term. If you are looking at a new car it is worth taking a look. Although Nissan's are cheap, but reliable.
