But DSE is advertising this as 30% everything. This is not the case. Only a handful of items are on sale, alot of the other items are conveniently out of stock or have increased in price by over 30%. It's misleading.

        • -3

@Orpheus: isnt it funny how people that complain about misleading prices never actually back up their point with proof?

    • +7

Its unethical to deceive unknowing customers . Not to say a lot of companies are ethical, but that's why people are downvoting. People don't want to be taken advantage of and are trying to inform others. Its an insult to deceive customers.

    • +3

I'm going to have to pay MORE for some items I had in my cart NOT even including the 15% eBay voucher.

  • +3

Can't expect much from a Dick!
Half the products are not on ebay

  • +2

3 pages of gaming, 2 pages sold out.. lol

  • -3

Shame on DS for not selling everything below cost price!

    • +4
      1. 30% wouldn't put everything below cost price
      2. If that was a problem then they shouldn't advertise a 30% off sale!
  • +3

What a bloody rip off….They have jacked up the prices by 15% on some laptops and the good priced laptops are out of stock.

  • The GOPRO Hero4 Session seems a pretty good deal. Like eneloops you can't have too many.

    • Are the eneloops good at 30% off though or is that their normal price?

  • +2

It's not you OP, it's DIck Smith.
Negging for the same reason everyone else is.

  • Thank you! Just saved me an extra 15% on items I had bought using the other eBay promotion.

  • +9

Dear Ozbargainer - stock will be back online once the 30% sale is over. Thank you for your custom.

    Love

Logitech Trackball Mouse M570 was selling for $50.28 few hours ago…now $105!!!

Any thoughts on a Dick Smith branded 54.5" tv for ~$560 (C&C)…? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251777126629?_trksid=p2060353.m14…

    • Well, in what seems to be normal fashion for those approaching a good deal, DSE ended the tv listing :o

    • They appear to be the same. Same gen processors, same res screen, same graphics/ram, same ports, same connectivity.

      • There is huge difference in prices of these two. with ebay 15% is still cheaper than dicksmith one. Which one should i buy. can you suggest these specs in any other laptop sub $1000.

  • Ohh what a Dick! ………smith

  • +5

    They ran out of 12GB PS3s, I'm sad. :(

They sold 49 of them while I was setting up my Paypal.

      • +2

I own one, what's your point?

    • +4

      • Oh my gosh, I didn't even notice that. That actually makes me feel better. xD

      • link?

Should be illegal… Maybe it is. Someone should contact 'The Checkout'

  • +9

Muahahaha Dickie Smithie you so silly! Think I would fall for your trap of raising the price of 2xAAA Eneloops from $6.93 ($5.80 with eBay discount) to $15.98 ($11.18 discounted) as soon as this deal started?! WHY WOULD I WANT TO PAY YOU $5 MORE YOU FOOLS! LAME!

  • Logitech G402 for $35 each pickup is the cheapest I've seen in a while.

  • Anyone know if the ps4 is the new model?

  • +3

Some real good TV deals to be had. Pitty I'm broke!

    • any budget tvs about 55" that are fine for occasional movie watching n gaming?

  • +2

As per usual, no deal Dick! Prices up, stock levels down..

Seagate 4tb. Makes this a pretty good deal! ~$153

    • +1

It is a good price, but I remember when the 5TB one was for $149 delivered. Waiting for something like that again.

  • +2

Check the phone I wanted, out of stock but in stock on the dick smith site.

  • Did you get a email from eBay about this? I didn't get anything :/

  • hey guys, need tips with wireless modem router (dual-band):
I've narrowed it down to Belkin N600, Netgear N600 and Netgear AC1200.
which one would you choose? I just need a replacement for my old TP-Link. fairly regular sized house and not sure whether the need of USB is a necessity.

    • one with ddwrt

      • +1

pretty sure modem doesn't do ddwrt?

        • Only routers, not modem routers? I have no idea

  • +2

There's nothing of any interest or value as they have removed anything that is worth buying and only left eh massively over priced junk there as stock.

  • +3

Didn't DS know that everyone is accessible to eBay's historical sale records and will find out that, for some items, the New Prices*70% are even higher than the Old Prices?

  • This seems pretty good if you're interested in this sort of thing:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KEVO-Bluetooth-Polished-Brass-/25…

KEVO Bluetooth lock (polished brass)… $279 (their "discounted price" is the same price as Masters' normal price), but you get 30% off. Shame it doesn't come in Silver.

No idea if this device is any good, FWIW. Just a decent price off.

    • THats pretty cool!

    • +1

looks cool, but whats with the iphone only… what, no other phones have bluetooth??

  • +2

Dick is too keen on jacking up price when they launch "promotions". A mouse I am looking at was $12 yesterday and now is $25, and you can easily see this by browsing purchase history. What a job!

  • Any reviews on their $299 31.5 inch TV?

  • anyone has problem with payment I cannot login to paypal through ebay :-(

  • +1

An item I was watching has price increased by 100%

  • -7

Everyone need to calm down… perhaps they made a mistake for putting up a huge sale when they have no stock…

  • +2

Damn, the prices are good as. Just bought myself an Asus laptop, sure they jacked it but it's still their lowest.

    • Which One ?? can you provide the link.

        • +1

I bought the same one! For just over $1300 with the specs, it's too good a deal to pass up.

        • +2

          @Shamdog:

          high five

The CPU is a little beast, will last for years. Even though this is the older 4700 series, the replacement 5700 isn't that much better.

        • @Shamdog: Thinking of buying, but this doesn't appear to be touchscreen … although other vendors who carry the same model UX501JW-DN233H are touchscreen. Usually they would change the model number, wouldn't they?

        • +1

@solar: To be honest, I also noticed that the idiots at DSE in the description for the product "256GB HDD" instead of 256GB SSD. They barely had any specs so I researched the exact model number and touch screen came up on all of them. I'm praying DSE just stuffed up their description of the product and it does actually come with the touch screen. If it arrives with a HDD and no touchscreen, I will return it.

        • +1

          @Shamdog:

It's definately touchscreen and SSD, Asus doesn't sell this any other way.

        • +1

@plmko: @Shamdog and @plmko Thanks! I was thinking the exact same thing about mislabeled specs … but to be honest I wouldn't put ANYTHING past Dick Smith haha

        • +1

          @solar:

Just for the record, it does mention it's touch, but you need to read closer

          Glare 15.6' NTSC:45% N/A Touch Ultra Slim 200nits LED Back-lit FHD 1920x1080 16:9

Although in my opinion the 45% NTSC is incorrect, it should be ~70% since the screen is ~99% sRGB

        • @plmko: I honestly wish I knew what you were talking about plmko hahah

        • @Shamdog:

          screen colour = good

        • @plmko:
i read that as N/A Touch . not touch.

        • @plmko: hey, did your laptop come in? If so, how are you finding it?

        • +1

          @Shamdog:

Very fast, good build quality. Disappointed you can only fit one M2 SSD as there is no SATA port (extra large battery takes up the space). Also screen is pretty crap, simply refuses to calibrate right with a professional tool but it's touch screen. Really not used to not having a LAN port but AC wireless is fast.

        • @Shamdog: yeah nice. I'm not using mine for anything other than work (which is accounting based) so I don't think the screen will pose too big a problem. Apart from that, it's a beast.

  • +3

Why not jack everything up by double then have a 50% off everything sale!!

    OMG! 50% off!!

OMG 30% off = same thing.

    • No no.. double everything and then have a 45% off sale is the Dick way.

  • +1

No iphones no ipads no apple products !!!

    • That's no surprise. The margin on apple products is probably only 5-10%. Anyone knows for sure?

  • +2

Thanks bought a fitbit Surge for $216 saved almost $100

    • Any reason you chose Surge over the Garmin? I'm trying to decide

      • +1

Take a look at the Garmin vivoactive.

        • That's the one I'm thinking I'll get

        • +1

          @Jenht:

I would say the garmin is better

      • didn't know of the Garmin. I have wanted the Surge for a while I had a flex so I am familiar with it and all. but the vivoactive does look quite good. maybe will try that or when the 2 comes out :D
edit: they have their advantages v disadvantages.. but HR monitor (for weight lifting) was the main reason I wanted to upgrade from flex and surge has it, seems like with the garmin you need to buy the HRM separately.

  • is samsung tabs2 9.7 better than the tab10.1?

    can anyone tell me pls…
    seems like a good buy?

    • +1

If you're talking about the original 10.1, that's absolutely ancient. The S2 is much faster and have a more vibrant super amoled screen.

    • I assume you are talking about the S 10.5 as the Tab 4 10.1 is not comparable. I picked the S2 9.7 because of the 4:3 aspect ratio change. If you like the 16:9 aspect then the S 10.5 is for you; it has much better specs.

  • the razer mechanical keyboard any good?

These guys are animals! This item I wanted last night is more expensive. It is now $56 after 30% off and last night it was $48 with 15% off.

    • They lowered the price by $1.60? What a bunch of scammers!

      • +5

What waffle are you cooking? It costs $8 more which is higher.
        I saw your earlier comment
"You must be trying really hard to ignore the genuine deals being posted.
Sure not everything is 30% off, but there are a number of items that genuinely are cheaper. You're only concentrating on the negative"

Quite the used car salesman. Imagine going into a pub advertising a super sale when all drinks aside from a few have had the prices increased. This mentality is astounding. If you found a good deal that's great but some of us are losing money on things that were cheaper last night. Hence your excitement and false $1.60 figure and hence my fury.

        • What waffle are you cooking? It costs $8 more which is higher.

My mistake, your use of "after" followed by "with" made me misread your post.

If you found a good deal that's great but some of us are losing money on things that were cheaper last night.

How have some of you lost money? Surely you didn't see the higher price and bought it anyway?

        • @eug:
Don't have a choice as its cheaper then other stores but I have to travel to avoid $10 postage.
I am losing money over last night's price which I would have never suspected a double in % off would increase the price

        • @thelastnoob: Mmm well … as frustrating as it is, it's still cheaper than other stores, so it's still a bargain isn't it?

        • @eug:
Yes a bargain but by your standards I could have missed paying $400 for a flight and ended up paying $800 but because the next cheapest is $825 i am getting a bargain. All this when the discount % was doubled overnight!
Yes isn't not double the cost but I am trying to illustrate why I am not jumping for joy especially since I got the wheel for $60 more than what it cost today only a week ago. Another OZB user got his wheel delivered after 10 days and it was listed $60 cheaper that same day of delivery and he could have gotten a local pickup as well.

Dick Smith time and time again is being unethical and deceptive hence the very high proportion of negs here
