Good promotion, but that is a long exclusion list!

    • that's the way myer rolls
discount "everything" then list all the good stuff in an exclusion list

Also in Parramatta from 14th to 23rd Jan

  • So exactly what constitutes "electrical"?

    • Yeah, I'm wondering if GPS units count as electrical.

  • Why not national?

    • my guess is that these 3 stores are probably the largest in the Myer stable in terms of inventory and customers. Perhaps overstocked?

    • Or else they're behind in sales from the new year sales and desperately need to make up numbers before the end of the month?

Next time they should just put the following conditions:

    1. Only available to high margin items.

To be fair, some of the brands listed in the exclusions are on contractual arrangement - i.e. it's a "store within a store" kinda thing rather than Myer sourcing the stock and selling it themselves. Therefore they don't have the autonomy to dictate discount pricing unless the vendor also agrees to it.

Think about it this way: most of those brands have independent stores outside of Myer, and any sale Myer has would also need to be offered at the stores, but would hurt their margins, making the franchisees unhappy.

      Business is fun!
