Signed up via your referral link. My modem is on the list of non supported but I installed the app on the computer and works perfectly. Thanks!

  • +2

It only lasts till 2045 - false advertising :p

    • +1

How sure are you that's not your lifetime? ;)

      • pretty sure im immortal…

  • Thanks purchased… give it a go

    Subscription Expiry: Oct 12, 2045

    BOOM

Shame I have the Optus CG3000v2 Router. No DNS settings available, so i'll have to change DNS on each individual device. No big deal I guess not a huge amount of devices to change

  • Using Getflix already and happy with it so might as well extend to 2045. You never know how long anything is going to last so if it doesn't last there are worse things I've blown $50 on! Used the referral link so thanks OP - hope you get it.

  • Signed up for the 10% discount via email.
Received the email instantly but there was no discount code included. Am I doing something wrong???

    • Coupon should be in the welcome email.

  • Just received new email, new app for Mac just came out. It also says that one for Windows will be released soon

  • +2

Just checked on the website seems like it has been extended for another 7 days …

    • Yes it has…good if people want to try before buying.

  • If you die before your 90 wont be a lifetime.lol. deceiving same as life time tint on a car, get $50 out of 20,000 ppl adds up

  • +3

Seems the code can no longer be applied to existing Getflix accounts, so I had to make a new one to redeem this offer.

    • Yeah, I'm having that problem as well. Was going to give it a few days and try again.

  • I don't know if I need this because my netflix subscription is only a couple of months left. Also most international channels require paid subscription for worthy channels like HBO and ESPN.

Any reasons why I should get this?

    • +1

Access bbc/zattoo tv (free Eurosport) and European channels. Vpn.

      • +1

I get negged because I asked why I need this?

        • +1

Why negged? Mine is serious answer…….

    • With that mindset, you should just move on and spend your time on more productive things. Otherwise you might be glued to the tv for hours a day binge watching tv shows and movies.

  • what's the difference between Getflix and this VPN Lifetime subscription

    • +1

GetFlix offers smart DNS (changing a setting in router to access geoblocked VOD) + VPN.
      VPN Unlimited offers VPN.

You certainly could access VOD via VPN but they tend to get blocked, may be susceptible to speed decreases + it sends ALL of your traffic via the VPN whereas Getflix DNS only routes the geoblocked VOD traffic and leaves everything else alone.

      • cool thanks for clarifying

  • Extended for another week.

    • very confused/slightly suspicious at the deal in general (the value) and why it keeps getting extended!

  • I honestly don't know why so cheap, but also other companies sell very cheap on there. Look at Vpn unlimited and similar…$39 for lifetime too, while normally they cost $4-5 a month…
Anyway if I manage to get at least 2-3 years out of it I'll be happy. Hopefully they will be around for all the 30 :)

  • Anyone else getting this error when applying it to their account?

Error: This promo code can only be applied to new/trial accounts.

I have already cancelled my recurring paypal subscription.

    • You can renew your subscription. Not sure about the new/trial account requirement I activated on my existing account.

      • +1

@ory_zm: When did you renew your subscription? When I try to renew my subscription, I'm getting the same error as @geforce1gb

        • I finally went to do this and found this post before pulling the trigger. Anyone workout a way around this without creating a new account?

        • +1

Sorry only saw this today… I mean renew with PayPal. It looks like they changed the T&C of the deal to new accounts only (strange decision IMO!)

    • Sounds like they changed the deal to only apply to new accounts. Would be interested to see if new accounts have the same features + T&Cs as existing ones?

  • Can someone please PM or tell me the code to use to get this offer?

Also am i correct in assuming that I will be able to choose whatever region i want for netflix for the next 30 years, in theory? is that how it works, just like a normal getflix subscription?

    • Can someone please PM or tell me the code to use to get this offer?

No code needed. Just buy it.

Also am i correct in assuming that I will be able to choose whatever region i want for netflix for the next 30 years, in theory? is that how it works, just like a normal getflix subscription

      Yes.

    • You need to subscribe to their newsletter when you go on website. They will email you the code for 10% off

      • I cant find the link to subscribe to the newsletter.

        • When you go to stacksocial there should be an autopop up. Enable pop ups for the page.

  • Only few hours left, I wonder if there will be more extensions. Anyway most of us are now set for 30 years :)

    • Another extension….

      Ending In: 7 days

      • Hate the extensions. Well, like it as thanks to it I could jump on it, but hey… They need to make money somehow.
If you do a short time promo, then put up your normal prices back - I can see the point there. Extending lifetime offer for prolonged period will get too many once-off paying users. And I really really don't like that…. :-(
Hope they know what they are doing. They have been around for quite some time…

  • Thanks OP, just created a new account for this offer!

    • No worries! The Apprentice UK is about to start on BBC so you are on time for that :) we just relocated from the UK so it's nice for us to be able to follow same shows

  • Is Getflix worth getting?

I have been looking at PIA but now Getflix has a built in VPN, is it unlimited?

  • Has anyone bought recently and been able to add to a current account?

  • +1

Bugger, just purchased without reading to the end of thia post :-( can't add it to my current account, oh well. 30 years is 30 years

  • +2

    Thanks fozzie.

~US$2 more than the 1 year price (US$33.18) for 30 years is quite the deal. Assuming Getflix don't pull an IceTV and go bankrupt. :D

If I get at least 13 months then I'll be happy.

  • Really not a big deal to create a new account right? 30 years, plus the one year (or whatever) you already had isn't going to make a difference.

Looks like you can change the email address of your account, so maybe you use it as a secondary account or gift it to someone?

  • Groundhog day!!

Looks like it has been extended again for another 7 days.

Lets hope this is not another iceTV where the company goes belly up after the good deals.

  • @deal88 hopefully they will stay around for longer! Anyway Netflix just launched in Italy so I asked if it will be added. getflix replied few hours later, saying it will on in a day :)
Very happy bunny, as now I can access even more for the same amount of $$$

    • +1

The iphone app iStreamGuide is a great way to see what is on Netflix around the world.

      • Thanks I was just thinking I need a guide to see what's available. Ill try it.

      • any idea on a web or android similar option?

        • Flixsearch.io. You can add websites to your Android homescreen in the browser (top right).

        • Istreamguide is also on Android. I just downloaded it

        • I also like http://www.flixlist.com.au/
It only shows content in Aus, NZ, UK and US though.

Cool feature is that you can search by genre/year etc.

  • Just got this the other. It's great. So you're really paying for them to allow you to use their DNS servers. Correct?
What would happen if you just entered their DNS settings without a subscription?

    • +1

Won't work. Your IP address needs to be registered with them.

  • +2

looks like it has been renewed again. expires in 7 days

  • +1

    Just signed up :D

  • +1

All sorted for the next 30 years :D

    • +1

We should complain only 30 years grrr 😂

  • So is this any different to a normal Getflix subscription? Whats the catch?

    • We have discussed previously we don't know how stacksocial can offer such a good price. They do other vpn services too/courses/software at a fraction of normal prices. I dunno how, but they do.
Only catch is if getflix go bankrupt. That's the same risk if you sign up yearly though, as this service is the same as "normal"7 subscription

  • Would jump on board if I could add to my current account. When you sign up to PureVPN they offer a smartdns included, but it doesn't have as many country choices.

    • even if you lose money for the last subscription you bought, technically you still saving a lifetimes worth of new subscriptions.

  • I just bought this, went through the steps and signed up. My dashboard says Im only on 2 week trial??
edit: woopz, didnt add the last promo code into getflix. Works now yay!

  • Had Getflix for about a week now. It's great and easy to use. One question. Can you have the app on two devices? DNS settings have been put in the router, but I still like to switch between AUS and US subscription.

I was playing around with it last night. Two phones on same wifi network with Getflix app installed, signed into same account. I change Netflix region on one, but the other still retains previous region. There will be a conflict, right?

Reason being is if other members of the family want to switch between AU and US netflix, I want them to be able to do it, and not have to get my phone to do it.

    • You don't need to install the app at all. Once you have the DNS settings in your router, you are all set. The app just replicates the online dashboard so all devices will be changed to the region you set.

There really isn't any advantage to setting Netflix to AU unless there is something specific that you can't find on the US version (pretty rare).

      • The only way I know to do that is to set Netflix manually. Then on the device you want Australia don't use static IP, this way will default to Australia.

        • I wonder if there is an app that let's you quickly switch between your DNS servers? By switching between Getflix's and your ISP that should let the device switch between AU & US.

      • There really isn't any advantage to setting Netflix to AU

Correction: iiNet/Westnet/Internode have Netflix unmetered. That's a pretty big advantage for some of us :-D

      • My internet is just fast enough to stream HD (if no one else in the house is downloading). It seems when I switch to US, it won't stream in HD. Not sure why. Perhaps I lose a little bandwidth when switching to US (US servers perhaps?).

Until I move next year, I'll be using Aus Netflix for the content available, and only switching to US when the content I won't isn't available (which I know is a lot).

The getflix app allows easy switching between Aus and US (much easier than going into router and changing back DNS). I just wanted to know if two phones have the app, who's settings trump.

        • +1

The reason streaming is slower from US is that there is no caching of US content on Australian servers. You are actually getting served content from the US, that's more cable = slower.

I just wanted to know if two phones have the app, who's settings trump.

It's been answered but to re-iterate the setting is global to all your devices. The last change will take affect. However if you already have a device signed in it might "stay" in the old region for a while and from my experience it eventually errors out and you have to restart the (Netflix) app, at this point it will pick up the change to the new region.

        • @ory_zm:

Thanks mate. I understand it now. cheers! :D

Early10 today's code gives 10% off for Black Friday

  • +1

Perfect timing. Glad I double checked OzB before paying for one year.

  • Ending in an hour, I dont know if this time it's true. I did get an email saying last chance, we will see if they will extend but as said I'm not sure.

    • Usual trick! Renewed so it must really be ongoing.

      • I've marked it as long expiry. No need to keep checking the "expiry date".

        • Thanks! Will leave as it is then.

  • Tried to buy this just then but Stacksocial won't accept my post code for my credit card (keeps needing 5 numbers even though you can set the country and state properly?) and PayPal is screwed for international transactions now as it won't allow me to pay in US$ (when I change it to bill me in the sellers currency it still shows as being in AU$).

It may only be a couple of dollars difference, but I didn't get a credit card ages ago with no international transaction fees for nothing. Worked fine on my old card but that was cancelled due to suspected fraud and the new card just won't change in PayPal's checkout or any account info that I can find to change it. They hide it damn well now it seems!

  • When does this deal expire?

How good is the vpn? What speeds do you guys get? I'm on 100mbit nbn so wondering if the vpn will be good for torrents.

  • Currently use code SAVE15 and you get two subscriptions for $48 us dollars (takes $30 off), as outlined by eastern culture here

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/221011

  • hey guys, I'm new to getflix and netflix. Trying it out before i actually commit for 30 years :P on the getflix website it says my dns and ip are okay but when i log on to netflix is still showing aunsralian region content. well it didn't seem any different to me. any thoughts what i may have done wrong? any help is much appreciated.

also, if i were travelling overseas - can i bring my getflix connection to connect to a local router or this subscription is fixed to my house(current) router?

    • Have you closed app and restarted? Best way to work out is to look at movie selection. For example Australia has Australians, Italy Italians, States international. I think you can take it with you, there is also vpn which is meant also to protect you When you are away.

  • Just bought the lifetime subscription. Dns is great, no speed difference and works for all geo blocked websites I visit and VPN is OK… 1mbps down and 0.43mbps up on a 6.8mbps down and 0.86mbps up connection. Using the UK Canterbury and NL Amsterdam.
