  • Just what I need when I'm on Ozbargain, looking for ways to save a bit of cash…. an ice cream machine.

In all fairness though, there probably are people out there who spend considerable $$$ on shop-bought icecream. Maybe homemade is the way to go for those folks.

  • lol

  • BlakeH, I've changed the title to inculde description and price, please put those in title next time.

  • Worth it if you can make it taste similar to the mcdonalds chocolate soft serve.

    • that would mean you need to get pig fat as an ingredient somewhere wouldnt it? lol jk :P

    • maccas has chocolate soft serve????

      • Yes, ages ago all stores used to have them, now only certain stores do.

In brisbane you can find them at central station or one of the mini mcdonalds in the city. Not sure if there are other places.

        Best ice cream ever :)

  • Hmm, on the home page this is listed as a weekly offer, valid until 10/01/2009. Even if they mean 2010 it's already the next week. I would get in quick if you want this.

I'v owned one of these for over a year now and I cannot recommend them.

They make nice ice cream but you have to serve all the ice cream within 10-15 minutes after its ready otherwise the ice cream becomes too hard and the motor locks up and cannot stir the ice cream any more. You then have to scoop the rest of the ice cream out of the machine.

Also if you use the dispensers you end up with more on the floor than on your ice cream, it goes everywhere.

Also you have to have the bowl in the freezer for 24 hours before using the machine.

We haven't used ours in about 3 months for those reasons.

    • Thanks for the info. I do miss the coffee soft serve they used to have at Melbourne City Myer though…

    • damm, it looked cool :(

  • Hmmm, at the top of the site it says Free Shipping on every item then underneath it says max freight $6.90 per order?

As it turns out freight is free ($2.00 for insurance though)
