BCC Computers (Southland) up to 60% off All Console Games

50

This is one of the least investigated bargains of all time but still..

I was rushing to work at Southland shopping centre yesterday (Cheltenham, Melbourne) and saw a hand scribbled poster suggesting that Bcc Computers were no longer stocking console games and that they were selling them up to 60% off. It also said they will BEAT any other prices.

Not sure whether this is a storewide situation and as I was in a rush I couldn't even check their prices.

It is 43 degrees here in Melbourne so it is junk food and Borderlands for me today - still if someone felt like beefing up this post with any actual useful information I would be very grateful.

Edit:
I ended up heading to Southland today after all and here is the deal:

Games less than 2 years old 20% off
less than 3 30% off
less than 4 40%
less than 5 50%
less than 6 60%

Thanks.

  • umm cant find games on the website….

    • Yeah, it wouldn't let me post unless I put in a url. As I say it might just be a Southland store deal.

      • Perhaps a photo or something showing evidence might be good as there is little detail

        • Or maybe a quick phone call to the store to verify before posting?

Like I said I was rushing to work and didn't have time to take photos etc. I agree there is little detail and this can only be remedied by other people walking past BCC Computer stores at the moment.

@arthurbach4: As a user i would say dont post it until you have some usefull information otherwise this is just frustrating

@Mikinoz: So to clarify, because I was in a rush and unable to gather all available information, you would prefer that I not mention a potentially fantastic bargain?

              Good to know.

@arthurbach4: Yes to avoid the frustration , i am sure you think its a great bargain but pointless to anyone else without further details

So I gave them a call and they mentioned the following:

1.Their Wantirna store does not have games to clear (because they don't stock them)
2.She was not sure about their Geelong store
3.New games will be around 25% off and older games up to 60% - they will also beat (confirmed) any other price
4.The prices are NOT as marked as they have not had time to put the new prices up yet
5.I threw Borderlands and Bayonetta (both 360) at her and she had sold out of Borderlands and simply did not have Bayonetta.

    • Thanks that is very usefull

    • edit that into the post

  • Just stopped by the Southlands store to have a look. Didn't see anything very exciting but I only have a Wii so I'm not sure what Xbox or PS3 gamers would consider a good deal.

Their base prices do seem to be a lot more than other places I've looked. Eg: the only thing that caught my eye was Super Smash Bros Brawl which I think was $99 without discount. Also stock seemed pretty limited (at least as far a Wii games go)

    Hope this helps someone.

  • I appreciate the fact that you posted the deal ASAP. If you had waited until getting more info, as others have suggested, then half the games may have already been sold!
I live near southland, but don't think I can justify going there due to the heat today! :P

I go there to get away from the heat ;)

  • I was at Southland on Saturday, in BCC, and didn't see anything that leapt out at me as a major bargain, but I wasn't looking very carefully.

  • Not surprised that BCC are getting out of the console game business.
    They are way overpriced.
Best thing to do is know the price of the game you want and since they "beat any price" BCC will have the best price (if they have what you want in stock ;)
