A true OZBargainer would stick to drinking tap water. It's free and healthy without any added calorie.
A true OZBargainer would stick to drinking rain water. That's the one for FREE.
Oh more diabetes, we can't just get enough of it as long it's a bargain.
Just linking my previous comment on how to cold brew tea and make something much healthier and tastier than this sugar riddled stuff:

You basically just get a container/jug, pour water in it, put in loose leaf or tea bags according to how much water is in there, pop on the lid, put it in the fridge for 6-12 hours, let it naturally steep, remove teabags/leaves and consume within 1 week. You can then put in lemon/lime/herbs as desired along with simple syrup or agave syrup if you want sweetness. Works well with any type of tea. My favourite is cold brewing cinnamon and rooibos tea. Early Grey is delicious too.
Less caffeine and very little tannin so it is quite sweet rather than bitter.
Oooh thanks for that, I'm a Rooibos drinker too!
Question - isn't it better to steep the tea in boiling water so all the tea comes out, then let it cool and put it in the fridge?
Also, how much cinnamon do you put in with your Rooibos (assuming 1L jug?)
Glad it helped. I actually use these teabags:
http://www.twinings.com.au/range/fruit-and-herbal-infusions/… (Tetley are good too) which contain about 40-60% Rooibos.
I put 3 bags for about 4 cups of water. Steep overnight in the fridge.
I find tea bags easier for infusions like that whereas loose leaf is good for simple blends.
As for the steeping method, here is a link showing all the benefits of cold steeping rather than steeping through boiling water:
Obviously it depends on taste but every tea I have cold steeped has come out much tastier as it does not cause the teas to release the bitter tannins. Antioxidant levels are pretty much the same too:

Right. So they're actually 1.5L. Usually $3.79 at Woolies. Currently $4.18 at Coles.
