Dyson Vacuums at E&S Trading

30

E&S Trading are having sales on many items but the Dyson vacuums caught my eye:

Model Price
Dyson 23 Turbine $611
Dyson 23 Turbine Plus $683
Dyson 23 Motorhead $791
Dyson Handheld $179
Dyson Handheld Motorhead $251

It's perhaps not dirt-cheap but I'd been looking for Dyson's for some time and these were the best prices I could find. Has anyone found any better?

Although they were out-of-stock at the Blackburn store they were still taking orders. Offer available until the 24th Jan or until sold out.

Dyson Vacs are totally overrated. Not worth the price tag.

They are not overrated, I've got one for over 5 years and it's working like its new and sucking stronger than any out in the competition. I've bought other brands and have found that they don't last as long and cost more in the long run. Yes, I use it every 2 days and vacuum extensively.

    • We've also got a DC5 (purple and green) that has been working hard since 2002 (I'm pretty sure).

The best thing about Dyson are actually their repairs. In your worst case scenario (motor failing) the most your repair will cost is just around $100. We had some electrical failure in ours a couple of years back and for $79 they fixed it, refurbished the entire unit (replaced all filters including lifetime ones), sent a courier to pick it up and drop it off.

It has seen some very extensive use and performs like it's brand new. Highly recommended.

    • Agree with this, after 3 years ours is still working great.

  • bought our Dyson DC14Y at TheGoodGuys Melbourne last week for $384

  • Not a bad price. I recently bought my DC23 Motorhead from Good Guys for $799, with an included Dyson toy vacuum. Sold the toy on ebay for $50. But the GG price was till Xmas Eve.

  • What makes this $600 vacuum better than a $80 bagless one I can buy from Big W?

    • What makes a $70K BMW better than a $15K Hyundai?

    • Aside quality of materials which mean longer effective life for the vacuum cleaner, better suction better filters and better sealing!
But If you really want to spend that kind of money on a vacuum cleaner Miele is the way to go.
Any other brand just sucks the air and dirt in and blows dirt out into the air again.
I don't know why other manufacturers don't bother to fix this problem, but only Miele does the ability to keep the dirt inside the vacuum cleaner. It shouldn't be so hard.

      • If a vacuum cleaner has a HEPA certified filter, it is supposed to trap dust inside.

Does Miele employ a different method to trap all the dust inside?

  • I was wondering if Dyson vacuum cleaner need to replace any Filters/Bags regularly?
how much would it cost for long run?

as those regular/normal vacuum cleaner have HEPA filter/Bags & needs to replace regularly?

    • MY Dyson is bagless (Hence emptying the dust container can be troublesome) and it has a lifetime filter. You just need to wash the filter every 6 months or so. Not sure if all Dysons are the same.

      • You can buy new filters, but as Chinotto mentions you don't need to as you can just wash the HEPA filter and it's like new.

The HEPA filter is so fine it should be able to filter smoke particles.

You can also dismantle all the parts that get dirty and clean them. So you can wash the cyclone barrel in water, the dust bin, the hose, and any contact or turbine heads.

        • thanks Chinotto & h4lcyon for the replies, appreciated it! :-)

looks like Dyson is my next vacuum cleaner!

are regular/normal vacuum cleaner HEPA filter washable too? :-P
