TA, can you see if you can get ultrabook deals?
Mobile phones are boring. They all do the same thing these days.

  • +22

Wow TA. This is a really incredible price for a newly released phone. Excelent work TA and Mobiciti

    • +5

      Cheers mate.

      • Hey TA,

Any chance of seeing a deal on the Oppo Find 7?

        Cheers for all the deals.

  • +10

To give people a reference of how good this deal is, I note that JB Hifi is selling for $1097 at https://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/Outright-Mobile-Handsets/sa…

  • -6

can i write on your ass with this TA?

    • were you born in the jungle?

      • +1

        my name is george

  • +1

Is there any chance for a deal on S6 edge 64gb Ta?

  • +3

As a Note 3 than a Note 4 user I just can't get myself to get this, wondering if poor sales are dropping the price quick?

    • +5

Why would you feel the need to get this if it had a removable battery and sd card??
It's just another smartphone with a few minor improvements. You can still surf the web, call, download apps, play most games and take good photos with your Note 4. Don't get sucked into the hype.

      • I won't be buying, really upset by it too, thinking the Note was gonna be my phone of choice….. not to mention I'm now on a $70 unlimited Telstra plan with 6gb data, if I get a Note 5 on their plan I'd get less and pay $35 more lol

  • +14

i will wait for Sony xperia z5 premium with 4k screen and 2 days battery

    • +8

I am waiting for z78653452. It has ever lasting battery and camera to capture outer space…:) and above all…It is invisible

      • +5

It just so happens i have one in stock for the low price of $78653452 and I'll post it today! Even the box it comes in its invisible.

        • +1

it is the emperor 's smart phone? only smart people can see it?

        • Do you have any coupon codes available? Money is a bit tight and $78653452 is is at the very upper limit of my price range.

        • +1

          @coops108:
          Alright but just this once:

          Use CheapArse for $1 off.

    • +3

Same here. Bought every Note so far and am responsible for 20+ Note sales so far. Planning on buying the Z5 Premium now.

Just ridiculous that a Note 5 has less storage than my Note 1 could.

The Note 5 should come in 128gb. I don't care if I have a 20TB SSD AC Wifi network at the ready. It should be available to buy.

    • +2

I was thinking about to buy the Note 5 until I saw this.

      http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7536&idPhone2=…

      Best smart phone in 2015.

      • -2

What makes it the best in your opinion?

What's holding me back, is Sony's software, display (no amoled) and their dismal performance of their cameras in blind tests compared to iPhones, Samsungs and LGs despite commanding a similar price.

I don't have high hopes that their cameras have improved much, based on their track record.

      • +1

screen is going to kill it again for sony

        • +1

If you're referring to the battery life then…yes.

Why would you want a 4K screen on a 5" device?

        • @plasmapuff: for VR Goggles perhaps?

        • @plasmapuff:

i really wish the standard Z5 had the same battery as the premium. Would buy instantly

Its either S6 Active or moto x play for me now (both with much much larger batteries).

      • +2

I really don't see your point. I personally prefer note because it has an active stylus, this isn't there in Z5. Exynos chipset outperforms 810 in most cases while 810 has a heating problem as well. Granted, camera has a higher pixel rate but that doesn't warrant an assumption of better picture quality. From what I can see, the deal breaker for you is the storage, for me, 32GB is more than enough but sure as hell won't use 128GB on the run! Then again, you like what you like :)

    • The huge top/bottom screen bezel on the z5 looks awful…an aesthetic deal breaker.

    • +1

      waterproof kills all others.

      finger print

      latest camera

      beautiful design

      long battery

      better customer service

      • I don't know what you do to your phone to require waterproofing but never ever in 8 years of owning a smartphone since the iPhone 2 have I ever run into a problem with water getting into my phone.

Also the latest camera doesn't say too much. The Z3 had a camera that was slow and unresponsive to use with utofocus that was always a tad off. Lowlight photos was just a long 2/3 second shutter speed requiring you to hold it dead still for a few seconds to avoid blur.

        • Doubt it's better than the Note 5, but the camera has a new sensor this time, really fast autofocus and better lowlight than the Z3.

To summarise what it is saying, Sony have implemented dynamic resolution. The phone will alternate between 4K and 1080p depending on whether you need it or not.

Believe it or not, I actually think this is a great idea. Reducing the resolution would help with the battery life and performance.
I frequently reduce the resoution on my tablet, because it really does have an impact on perfomance.

That said, it's not always 4k.

    • Haha two day battery.

  • +1

Is arse note same as the brown note?

  • Great work, I imagine you are going to find me my next phone. Looking for a LG G3/ Huawei Ascend Mate 7 / or another great phone.

PS I know you don't take orders!

    Cheers.

  • That's a really good deal for such a flagship

    • -6

note series now mid range imo…
fast cpu let down by samsung thinking they are apple and ppl will buy like sheep…

i for one welcome our new china branded phone warlords

      ….

      ……

      ………

      i'll prob get a z5 premium
      nice having a choice

      • +5

I don't think you could argue the note 5 is 'mid range' just because it lacks micro sd and removeable battery. Exynos 7420 is the best smartphone cpu by a long way plus a fantastic amoled display and 4gb of ram. Yeah right…mid range.

        • none of the issues, lack of sd and removable battery stopped me from upgrading, even they will certainly make me jump on the note 5 quicker,it is the limited 32g the deal breaker…i will wait for the 64g …

      • +1

Why you got negged. People wants to hear only things which are music to their ears.
        A reasonable opinion is negged.

A Note fan until now with lagging note 4 and finally with poor options on this will make me to look for other options.

        • I'm running both a Note 3 and an S6, with my Note 3 not lagging. How is your Note 4 lagging?

        • 32gb is too limited for a high end device

when does a high end device stop having high end specs/features
when it tries to go down apple's path…

  • Nice deal price. +

  • +5

Been a big fan of the Note series. Unfortunately, no MicroSD and non removable battery is a deal breaker for me. You've lost me samsung.

Might as well get a Nexus, no bloat and first to get new release roms.

    • Doesn't the Nexus phones have no SdCard and Removable Battery? or did they change since I last had one

      • +2

probably saying that the note series doesn't present any advantages over the nexus now (with the loss of microSD + batt). But it still does have the stylus and Android skins are up to personal taste imo.

        • +3

Probably, though from past experiences with the Nexus phones, I find they do lack in battery life and camera

        • @altechi:

Yeah they generally are worse in those areas, with the nexus 5 and 4 being so cheap there had to be some compromises. The nexus 6 I believe is better, but still not up to Samsung, Lg etc.

  • -8

    Wait for apple!

    • +3

I've been waiting for them to release a device with a revolutionary never seen before on any device ever The New iPad with iPen. I'm just not sure if it will be new new or old new…So hard to keep up.

      • +2

Yeap. I cannot believe that no one has ever thought about putting a stylus on a 12 inch tablet before.

Sarcasms aside, I might stay up for the keynote just for the iPad Pro. I prefer Wacom over other stylus techonology. Wacom isn't exactly flawless; there are issues like weight, and how the pointer do not align well with the pen near the edge and when you slant it. That said, I've never seen anything that does "writing" better than Wacom yet (at least for me).

So yeah, I have my doubts on the stylus tech that Apple might be using, but meh, shouldn't let my doubts stop me from looking at what could be an amazing product.

  • goes to show how bad Samsung are with their pricing strategy… the phone hasn't even been out for a month yet we are already seeing significant price drops…

    • +1

Yeah this phone will probably drop down another $150 in a few weeks. :D

  • Hi, could this be sent thru express post? My bro in law in interested but he is leaving the country this Sunday…

  • Was over Samsung till I saw gear s2 and now am forced to reconsider. Appreciate the watch will walk with other android phones but I assume it will play nicer with a member of its family. I assume they are trying to move units before the apple announcement……Thanks for the great deal.

    • -3

Try pricematching with JB Hi-Fi. Go to one of their display computers, ie. one of their macs, load up the site, put it in the cart, add the promo code.. And call one of the staff over. Ask them to match it. They might, they might not.

  • How is the audio output on the exynos chip? Don't they use wolfson dac? That is one thing I really hate about my note 4, the sound quality isn't that good.

  • I'm tempted by this but with the Snapdragon 820 and USB Type-C on the horizon it's best to wait 6 months if you're planning on buying a phone to last 2 years.

  • BTW this is Vodafone branded note5

  • +2

Network Branded Vodafone, can you add that to the description please.

I have no idea what the changes are but usually it means a carriers firmware meaning updates can be even slower than normally from Samsung. (thats the case with Telstra Branded)

Mobileciti are great though, got my son a cheap LG G3 a few months back.

  • TA, time for some behind the scenes for this magic

  • says Backorder, is it all sold now?

  • Mobileciti product spec says 3GB RAM?

    • sorry its 4GB RAM.

  • On eBay store too? Good for cashrewards

  • Any chance for the gold version?

  • Hi Tight Arse, can you hook up a deal for Galaxy Note 4 and Note 3 too please if possible ?

    • Note 3 please, I second that.

  • Currently out of stock :( Ozbargained

    • +1

Don't be stressed, you just saved $888 :)

  • +1 just for the "ARSENOTE" coupon code.

  • -1

    888 IS VERY LUCKY.
If you don't buy at this price you're crazy in the coconut.

    • +1

      Guess I'm crazy then.

  • Don't understand all the hype. Nothing revolutionary about this phone to get it so early. Wait a couple months and the standard price will be around 850-900. Then just wait for an ebay sale or something else to come along. Probably save a couple hundred dollars from waiting 3-4 months.

    • +2

Wait a couple months and the standard price will be around 850-900

Well it is $888 right now…

      • Seems like RRP to me…or what it should've been.

        • RRP is $1099 :P From Samsung Store Australia.

        • @venu: I think there is AUD tanking influencing the price as well, since it's cheaper than Note 4 (and Galaxy S6 was cheaper than S5) in other countries.

  • +1

    Well its out of stock.

  • +2

People need to stop putting links to bargains on whirlpool.com.au, thats why they sell out so fast.

    • Why? People who are looking for microwave ovens and washers end up buying phones instead? :)

  • +1

Hey TA fantastic deal. You and mobile city :) seriously though the deals you negotiate are very good and I would simply like to say thank you :)

On this note, Any chance your looking for a deal with an S4 note at all? Would be greatly appreciated :)

  • +2

Good Samsung deal. Too bad I am stuck with iPhone.

    Here's a nice little joke:

What do you call those security guards working at Samsung?

    'Guardians of the Galaxy'…

  • Does anybody know if Australia will get the 64gb variant?

  • +1 for having a price with lots of 8s.

  • -1

After new iPhone announcement tomorrow morning $777 😊

    • why? are apple dropping their prices?

  • Anymore stock coming?

    • Had issues with my order with Mobileciti so ended up buying the phone from vodaphone. You might have to check with store but they are selling the phone outright for $912 which is still a great price.

Happy with the phone nice upgrade.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/210436

      • Any voda bloat on it?

        • Just uninstall remove all unwanted stuff. Wasnt much

  • [@tightarse]: Any end of week deals with mobileciti? fingers crossed
