  • +1

    Check your junk mail.

    • The email confirmation came in my Primary inbox but the voucher itself came up in the Promotions tab. (GMAIL)

  • This year's voting format is a million times better than previous years. Well done. GG

    • lol for "Best gaming platform" the order is
      * PS4
      * XBOX One
      * Wii U
      * New 3DS
      * Steam
      * iOS
      * Android

      You have to scroll past the Nintendo consoles to even see Steam. They are def pushing the console gaming agenda with these awards ;)

    Alien Isolation is in quite a few categories, but they omitted it from being able to be voted for GOtY.

    Not cool. I'm going to vote for that unknown game 'Her Story' that they keep pushing for multiple categories as a donkey vote against the Alien Isolation omission.

    • +1

      I quite enjoyed Her Story.. fans of the puzzle fmv genre will appreciate your vote ;)

    Thanks OP

  • That's a steal.

  • Thanks OP!

    Such a hassle making multiple accounts and whatnot but I've really wanted to play this game so it was worth it. Bit annoying that I can't unlink my steam account with them though for the next month.

    • You planning on attaching your Steam account to a different Playfire account? All they can access is your gaming history/achievements which are publically viewable anyway. At least you're not required to run their desktop client at all to be eligible for this promotion so they aren't gathering data about you :)

  • After you link your playfire account where does the voucher code go to? Email? Playfire? Steam?

    Last hurdle fail.

    • +1

      After you link it you get an email that includes a discount voucher. You then go to Green Man Gaming and search for Bioshock Infinite and then proceed to buy it and then use the discount voucher/code that you received in the email to bring the price down from $20 to $1. After you buy it you'll receive another email giving you the steam activation code.

      • Thanks. I still am not getting the email with discount voucher, I have checked my junk mail.

        It does say to give it some time…waiting.

        • Hm that's pretty strange. I got mine within a minute. The email should look like this - http://i.imgur.com/9VdEVgG.png . It got sent straight after I received an email from Steam saying "Access from new web or mobile device".

        • I worked it out, it was an issue with email addresses I used, they didn't match.

          Human error.

  • Any ongoing issues linking to Playfire? I don't want to be spammed etc.

    • From my experience they send out emails every couple of weeks.

      • Thanks. Got the game. Thanks OP

    I never understood the point of getting people to vote like this. Even as an avid gamer, I don't know most of the titles and just picked arbitrarily in each category.

    • It crashed for me at the end first two times…so I just clicked the top ones after that :-/

    • I feel ya - I liked that they at least gave audio samples for the first vote, but for the rest of the votes I was shooting in the dark.

      Am I really expected to have seen or played every game they listed?

    • I only voted for one of the categories and skipped the rest. And I received the voucher:)

      • you could skip?? i clicked on the game listed first for all lol -_-

  • Bioshock Infinite is a 14GB - 15 GB download on Steam!

    Just so you know.

    • +1

      Insert disk 10,667 into drive A:

    • only a 3 or so hours download at 11mbps for me.

  • Thankyou ive been wanting to buy this game but always waited for a cheaper one lol.

    • GameAgent had a really good deal a while ago. Even if you buy the DLC at their record lows GameAgent's deal is cheaper considering the exchange rate. I'm sure the deal will be brought back again at some point.

      • Oh wow, that's a really great deal. I hope they bring it back.

    • lol ok :D

  • Picked up free Civ5 and Xcom from previous year's voting. Was just wondering what's this year's free game would be and hoping it'd be one of the Civ5 or Xcom's expansion…. oh well, there's always next year.

    • i remember voting last year but i forgot about what actually happened with the game.. turns out it's in my games section and i just activated it on steam then lol

      cheers ><

  • I want it so bad, but the deals are never for the 'full' game.
    When I get a game like this, I'm after every aspect of it (DLCs etc).
    Only makes the premium for the DLCs hurt more.

    Apart from that… I actually pulled the pin on voting.
    I'm thinking to myself: WTF, I have NO idea what the best of this category is. I'm voting just to get a $1 game.

    Not gonna neg, although I think my view fits the profile of one.

    • +1

      You could just vote for the categories that you know/care about and skip the others. You still get the voucher.

  • Unable to add the voucher

    :/

  • Not sure what I am doing wrong, but once i get to claiming my game/creating my GMG/Playfire account and hit 'claim free game' I get an error message about incorrect login details.. I am using my existing GMG account…

    "Just a minor issue…
    There seems to be a problem with your username, email address or password.

    If you're registering with an existing account, check your details and try again. If you're creating a new account, try a different username."

    • I used my existing GMG account. I was logged in but it still presents the same "Claim your game" form. I entered my existing username, email, password and DOB.
      Got the claim email.

      Did you use the same email address to vote as your GMG account?

    • Yes I used my existing GMG account which is the same email as the email used for the survey…

  • After 30 days how do you unlink it from steam

  • Seem to be getting stuck at checkout

    "Oops, we cannot compute!
    Can you please check your card details and enter them again? Thanks."

    Tried both paypal and credit card, both not working.

    • ur doing it wrong then
      show us a screenshot ples

    Note:

    It's US$1. = AU$1.50

    Also note that when you're checking out, you don't have to provide a real address / name. You can give them the middle finger, and say that you're asdfasdf from oaiwejfo8awejf, post code 23235235 etc.

  • I havent received any credit yet?

      If you don't have this game already, for the price, it is an absolute steal!

    • +3

      I'm not keen on this game, something similar, released at the same time but much better is Dishonoured.

      I know this is only $1, but I think it's a waste of time. Despite looking very open, your movements are very restrictive most of the time, enemy AI is poor, you face the same enemy for the majority of the game, weapons are standard in every shoot me up and magic you use is boring and unnecessary.

      But hey, that is just my opinion, plus the first 15 minutes are the best before the action kicks off, so that alone is worth a dollar I suppose.

      • +1

        Can't wait for Dishonoured 2 :D

      • +2

        With the plethora of 'Open World' games around and how that is literally the only type of game you can play these days BioShock Infinite, Dishonoured and Wolfenstein were much needed.

        I wouldn't put it down just because it wasn't open world. That's a bonus for me.

        • +1

          Could not agree more! Now that "open world" is basically the standard, I find myself pining for beautifully detailed, perfectly curated more linear experiences. I love open world, too - I just don't want every game to be that way.

        • I loved Wolfenstein and Dishonoured, they were closed environments and linear, but I didn't feel trapped in those games, neither in the Bioshock games either. They also had better enemy AI and better environments, like crawling along the roof tops to drop on a truck in Wolfenstein.

          I've moaned enough, I think I dislike it more because of the high expectations I had though.

      • +2

        I played through both. Gameplay aside, I think Bioshock wins in terms of style. The visuals and soundscape are utterly breathtaking. I do think Bioshock's combat could do with an overhaul (though the Sky-Hook was a fun addition!). I also think Bioshock wins in terms of narrative (both the content, and delivery). The problem with Dishonored was (aside from it being a bit grey on grey) that the was clearly a dominant strategy in terms of approaching every encounter. Basically level up Blink and you can cruise through the game.

        So, as a whole package I think Bioshock takes the cake (I absolutely loved it). Because Dishonored's story wasn't as engaging, the flaws in its gameplay were more apparent, and left me feeling a bit empty. Though, Dishonored also gave me the impression that its successor would fix its flaws and make for a truly amazing game.

    • Quite a process to get it.. but thanks, picked up a copy for a $1

    • just create a random email address and link a random steam account to playfire if you dont want statracking; up until the point you get the code and then input into steam and wallah… bioshock infinite for $1. woohoo!

  • Too much effort for this if you already have all the accounts..

    Had to create a new steam account, a new gmg account and new email.

  • Took me a lil while to figure it out. On https://goldenjoysticks.greenmangaming.com/ you have to put in the username and password for your playfire account, NOT your greenmangaming account.

    • lol good point
