Was busy constructing a chicken yard in my minds eye and casually googling when I noticed this deal for those that like your garden to match the current trend in industrial chic. Maybe in this colour, paperbark, they won't match those oversized cracking enamel warehouse light shades, nor would they come close the caster-wheeled pipework table or simple oversized motif hanging on the wall, but if you're looking to contain carrots and spinach in an easy to get at place, then at this price they are $70 cheaper than the competition.

looks like it goes well with the drop over greenhouse
personally, when i am growing cuttings, i just use polystyrene fruit boxes enclosed in a big plastic bag with a couple of coat hangers to support the bag.
What's the "raised" all about?
You don't have to bend down as far to maintain/use it.
You don't have to bend down
Maybe if you're 40cm tall you don't…….
in that case you'd be driving a tonka truck to harvest the vegies
For rental properties where you aren't allowed to make changes to the grounds without approval.
ground soil drainage is less of a concern. you could put in on top of concrete if you really wanted to
Tommyc raised just means raised above the ground all u do is fill item full of soil a bit easier
Nice find!!!
I ordered 3 similar ones at Bunnings on the weekend for $162 each. Will be going over to cancel them this afternoon and grab these from Mitre 10 instead. Are raise garden better than normal ones?
I mean in terms of plant growth and food quality…
Also what is the best soil to use for these raise beds?
-garden soil
-potting mix
-combination of something else.Plant mix depends on what you're growing
Mitre10, Pakenham, VIC is closing down. Almost everything is 20% off
I got one of these today, very happy with the build quality.
The ones I checked out at Bunnings looked crappy by comparison.
They had a row of screws in the middle at the unsightly sheet joint, these just slot together with no screws or fittings necessary.
The box is quite long though (over 2 metres), the ones from Bunnings come in a much smaller box, but i'd rather put up with the hassle of a longer box than the terrible looking joins.
It only just fitted in my VY sedan with the passengers seat laid back. Box size is 2005mm x 450mm x 70mm.
There are no sharp edges either, which is important with kiddies (and drunks) around.Edit: Just found this one on Bunning site http://www.bunnings.com.au/my-first-garden-200-x-55-x-41cm-p…
They didn't have this one at the store I checked, but it looks exactly the same as the Hexies. Thanks for the box dimensions. Just need to figure out how to squeeze three of these into a Nissan Micra.
I'd say the only way you'd get them in a Micra is to lay them across the back seat with one end out the window.
Could be dangerous!! :) .
Looks like the link is dead and the price is back to normal. Has anyone seen this anywhere still at this price??
Bunnings had exactly the same one under a different brand name for $99 on the weekend.
It was not on their website, I saw it at the Wagga store. Thanks for the reply. I gave my local one a call and they said it's not available at their store.
Different sized one (120 x 90 x 30) also available at Aldi for $30 next Saturday:
