Can't find stock at any 2000, 3000 or 5000 postcode stores.

    • Plenty of stock in the 4000, 6000 and 7000 postcodes too. Best to phone around for stock, the website stock isn't always updated regularly.

If you are interested in this great bargain, I suggest phoning around or waiting for it to come back into stock on the eBay site.

      • Or paying the extra $9.95 for delivery. Who knows when / if they'll have as good a deal in the near future.

Or not, considering home delivery isn't available..

I have a Canon 40D and it appears that since their release camera technology has improved massively. Does anybody have an idea if this 1200D for ~$300 would be better than my 40D that I paid nearly $1k for? On the surface the 1200D looks better but some aficionados maybe have a more educated view.

  • As a beginner with DSLRs, should I get this over the Kogan 100D for ~$100 more?

I would get this unless you prefer a touch screen interface. Since you are a beginner and if something goes wrong, it's best to have Australian warranty. You could spend that $100 on another lens or a micro sd card for saving the photos :)

      • Thanks for that, I was thinking as much. I was thinking things like self cleaning lens would be important, but I guess it would be better for me to learn as much as I can before spending more, if I do, later! :)

The Nikon D3300 for $430 after cashback and 20% off is also worth a look.

        • Thanks for the tip! I did see that (without realising it had the cashback too!) but in the end went for TGG ebay deal. 1200D twin lens kit. Less than $100 more than this one and I will be able to figure out what I'm doing with the two lenses - hopefully. Under $400 after cashback and I shouldn't need to buy anything else until I get more serious down the track.

@jasong: good idea! I'm sure you will be set for awhile for the two lenses :)

        • @jasong:
Ended up getting it from Bing Lee for $394.2 shipped after Voucher + Cash Back. Even better.

  • Anyone here collect their order in Sydney Central Plaza? I got the last one in that store.

Got mine today but with this seal on it:

There's no Canon seal on the box and i cannot not see any previous seal marks on the box either.

Seems a bit dodgy to me.. Anyone has similar experience? Can anyone show me what it should be like for an unopened box?
