I guess anything you usually buy at Spotlight! 30% off is pretty decent. I was running low on some craft items and was going to just go to Spotlight this week to buy it (full price, gasp!) so this is a timely sale.
I tried to buy 1kg kinetic sand (normal price $19.95).
But the discount is never applied, it keeps saying it'll be applied during checkout, but I'm already at step 3 were you enter credit card details, but it never applied the discount, as far as I can see (price is hidden at this step, but was still $19.95 in previous steps).
(The next step is called "Order Review", which could mean you get to review your order before submitting. But it doesn't always - I've been burnt before by websites who had a "review" step, but when you got there it says "Order submitted! Here's the details for you to review" or something like that).
Obviously I'm not going to pay first and then find out if the discount is applied or not…
Whatever you see, is what you get. I went all the way to ORDER REVIEW, and there was no discount applied….. I gave this a deal +1 because I thought it would take another 30% off at checkout. I googled around and some of the quilt covers are more dearer, even with the 30% off?? Is this store like HN, David Jones?? e.g. where the price is high and a sale event means its about the same as other internet stores?
Try Kmart for kinetic sand.
Can we just 'Pin' this, because Spotlight appear to always have a 30-40% sale going on. I'm just saying.
All I wanted was a spotlight…. so disappointed.
An item i saw on online on weekend has now conveniently gone up $2.50. Another Target?
i need fabric markers. thanks op
i need roller blinds. Not sure if spotlight is the way to go, but could be cheaper than going to blind companies.
Bought four roller blinds a year and a half ago from Spotlight, not disappointed yet. The only thing that would have made them better is if they were custom size but you don't get custom size for the price I got em for!
edit- Oh yeah, custom blinds they were not the cheapest and didn't offer the best warranty either. I went with Blockout Blinds when I got some custom ones put in.
I'm interested in getting custom size block out blinds. Could you give me more details on the ones you purchased such as price and place of purchase?
The company is actually called Blockout Blinds (http://www.blockoutblinds.com.au/)
They offer 10 year warranty which was way better than spotlight and dollar curtains (1 and 2 years respectively, iirc), they were the best price, and had the most customizations.
Their blinds are laser cut in Australia (in Werribee I think?), not poorly cut in China like Spotlight.
To top it all off, their installation was a few days late so I got a $50 eftpos card as compensation!
Check the ikea website too, if you live near one. They have some cheap roller blinds.
They often have 40% off blinds
So, 31 votes so far… has anyone actually succeeded in buying anything at a discount?
I seldom shop at Spotlight, but was planning a trip there tomorrow so this works out perfect timing. Cheers!
Spotlight Indro Qld, has/is expanding and not only is the 30% being applied also there are 50% off on clearance items before the 30%. Shortly, this Thursday, there will be an grand opening day with further specials. So those in Bne may be worth a trip. Those who are Members may, also get, in the mail, a $10 shoping voucher for that opening day. The voucher has been taken away from me so no dispay.
Things I saw today, sorry no camera, this store - Indooroopilly only - 50% off blinds etc. This I believe is before 30%. I am blinded out by blind shoping earlier - so I cannot verify. There also is clearence rows with up to 70% off before national discount.
Will I be going back, yes once made list. In any event it still will be "catch as chatch can'. there is a little now used saying!
i just want a sewing machine for under $100. but it does not happen this time.
do they intentionally avoid having their sales on sundays?
You can probably get a pretty nice down quilt or some pillows? I got a really comfy latex pillow last time for about $40 which was a great bargain
Or throw pillows if you're into that sort of thing
So they have a book on "Crafting with Mod Podge" but no actual Mod Podge? Looks like I will have to order it from eBay.
anything noteworthy?
