Those are the download only prices be aware there is the extra charge for the extended service and media cd which can be removed from cart seems like a great deal though nearest i could find was $129.00

  • Do people actually use software like this anymore? Perhaps with XP, but with Vista and 7 in particular, aren't the inbuilt firewalls (and MS's free anti-virus) solutions pretty much good enough? I've been using them for ages with no problem, never had a viru{#%${%&+'${`%&NO CARRIER")

    • According to Zonealarm, Windows 7 "does not include full firewall protection." Microsoft's free antivirus is good, but not good enough for me. I love ZoneAlarm's virtualization technology (Forcefield), which contains your web browser environment in a sandbox - so no virus or spyware could get into your PC.

      • Of COURSE ZoneAlarm is going to say that MSE isn't good enough. Otherwise they are out of business (and ideas).

Anyone still running XP needs to get with the program and move onto a modern OS.
Anyone running Vista/Win7 and not using the free, lightweight MSE is kidding themselves and/or inviting dangerous things onto their computer via the activities they do. And no product is going to stop that from ending in tears.

    • depends if you get torrents or not, i have had viruses on win 7 and vista.

i find avast to be the best of the freebies but if you are have to spend money on AV and firewall then get zonealarm

  • ZoneAlarm was decent until it got bought over… just like many of the great utils that were 'absorbed' and bastardized by the bigger brand names the like of symantec or microsoft
