  • Exactly what is the difference between the V6 and v6 absolute?

    • +10

They are for Sith, only Sith deal in absolutes.

      • underrated comment right here

Mini-motorised tool removes pet hair and ground-in dirt
Direct Drive cleaner head (with 75% more brush bar power than Dyson V6 Animal)
Soft roller cleaner head to remove large debris and fine dust
      HEPA filtration to capture allergens

  • any deals on the humidifier?

    • They had 35% off all products at the show, including vacuums, the humidifier and the hot and cool fans.

  • +3

Does it come with free food and/or wine?

    • +2

A second hand one might. Just have to open the bag.

    Great price.

Last great deal was ~$550 AUD delivered from amazon overseas. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/190052

Its a good price but $500+ for something like this just seems way over priced.

    • very true, these type of vacuum are only useful if you live in a place the size of a shipping container or to clean the car with since it's small and compact, the battery only last about 20mins and 6mins on Max mode with a bin capacity of 0.4L. i'd rather buy a normal size vacuum for all size houses :)

      • +1

Have you ever timed yourself vacuuming? It doesn't take as long as you think it does, especially when you don't have to draw a cord around with you switching power points every room. 20 minutes is ample to vacuum a house

        • Do you have kids? With ample of stuff around the house from the mess the kids made and dog hair, pretty sure I go at least 40mins non-stop. And a 0.4L capacity means I would have to stop every <2mins to empty it, I would then spend longer than 20mins vacuuming with that tiny hand held. I've tried them in stores, the power suction isn't strong enough for my liking especially living with kids and a dog.

If I were a single man living in a studio or a small apartment then yes that would be suffice.

        • @theone4u: The capacity size I agree especially if you are not vacuuming everyday but I would like to know what did you try picking up at the store when you demo'd it as they are strong enough to pick up hair? What model as well?

I have a 5 bedroom house with two living rooms a dining room and a rumpus room. Two kids 2 and 6 make substantial mess. I find my V6 Absolute perfect. Instead of doing a big clean once a week, we just clean each room as it needs it. Makes it a lot less of a chore.

I have not used my large vacuum since, but I can see there will be times when it will be handy to have both.

Only thing I have found is the direct drive motorized head is good, but not as good as Dyson would have you think. I have found it not massively different to the the Animal head in use.

        • I guess I live in a crazy house hold lol
Beside most of us have asthma so doing a very thorough clean is needed which can take time through out the house.
I got the old DC25(I think) upright vacuum and it works like a charm! The bag gets full after 3rooms :/ so a tiny vacuum would be useless in my house.

Don't they all have the same motor? v6 in all, I thought the difference are accessories etc.?

        • @theone4u:

yep same, the guy explained only the attachments differ. Works out $100 each attachment?@

        • @wholesaleturbos:

Not quite correct. The Absolute has an extra removable filter. (Supposedly good for asthma sufferers) Plus it comes with the Motor head and the Fluffy head.

        • @deal88:

I was showed the cone and heapa filter. Basically from $599 rrp to flagship was an extra head all in $100 increments

        • @theone4u: I've got some allergies and we're thinking of getting a stick Dyson to help deal with it. If it's cordless and easy to move about, it's going to be very ideal for doing quick jobs under beds on a more frequent basis. The other rooms can then happen less frequently, possibly with our other vacuum which is wall ducted but means pulling the long pipe up and messing about with it, so it's more a weekend once a week type thing.

Certainly I see the merit to having a larger vacuum, but we're hoping for us at least that having something quick and easy to use will allow us to hit those most important areas more often.

Probably looking at more the V6 Animal but, which is about $499 at a number of retailers.

  • Yep great price. Got my friend free ticket to the show so she's picked one up for me yesterday. The cheapest previously was a $699 deal at bing lee a week or two ago. equated to ~23% off. Tried to get myer to beat it since I had gift cards and they wouldn't go below $740.
Currently have the DC35 and its great. Hoping the direct drive motorhead will be superior on carpet as claimed.

$500+ is a lot of money but for lazy people like us getting out a corded vac from storage and dragging it around is too much effort!

  • but ticket is required to get in this show :(. anyone have free ticket? please PM me, I would like to get this Dyson Vacumm

    • Even with buying a ticket, the price is way cheaper than anyone else currently.

      • How do you buy a ticket? I go to their website and all it's got is very little info on their 2016 event.

Just say you are a Dyson Rep, forgot your ID, but can prove it when you are walking out in 5 minutes time with a Dyson vacuum.

      • FYI, Melbourne show sold out of vacuums on the first day of the show. Everyone else had them delivered free 2 weeks after the show.

  • Seriously - I don't know when or where I can get this (in Perth). The show's website has some details for next year but nothing about this year.

  • +2

@wholesaleturbos the key is little and often + you'd be surprised how far you can get in 6 mins without cords slowing you down. This thing actually makes hoovering enjoyab…..no that's not the right word

    • +1

Exactly. As I mentioned above, you no longer do full house cleans, you do room or spot cleans when needed. A lot easier.

  • +1

Ok. I just cleaned the house after twelve 6-7 year old girls had a party here. Sprinkles, pie pastry and cake crumbs all no problem. 4 rooms cleaned in less than 20 minutes. Mostly floor boards and tiles with a large short pile rug.

  • thanks for the post:) just grab one from show this afternoon

    • Hope you got free tickets.. As I was trying to offer them to you
