    For those who are interested…
I think that $70-$80 is the normal price (despite the RRP) as it was reviewed in Choice Magazine and they quoted $70 and $80 for the Sleep Easy and Sleep Easy Portacot models. Both models scored POORLY (58% & 50%) and were NOT RECOMMENDED.

Here's the details (not sure the difference between both models):
    Sleep Easy:
    • The depth of the cot in the upper (bassinet) position, with a mattress fitted, is less than 250mm. This is a major failure. • The supplied mattress doesn't fit snugly when it is used in the lower and upper (bassinet) positions. Furthermore, the recommended mattress length would be too short and would not fit snugly when used in the upper (bassinet) position. This is a major failure. • One cot end doesn't have any breathable zone at all. This is a major failure. • When ins use as a bassinet, the gaps between the mattress and the bassinet ends poses a head entrapment hazard. This is a major failure. • There are pinching hazards that pose aninjury to the person folding/unfolding the cot. There are also pinching points that pose an injury to the child. This is a minor failure. • The cot started to slide when lower than the required force was applied near the upper corner of one side of one end. This is a minor failure. • When in use as a change table there is a failure to the entrapment test posing a limb entrapment hazard. This is a minor failure.

    Sleep Easy Portacot:

    • There are pinching points that pose an injury to the person folding/unfolding the cot, at the corners where the top rails are joined. This is a minor failure. • The cot started to slide when lower than the required force was applied near the upper corner of one side. This is a minor failure. • The supplied mattress does not fit snugly. This is a major failure. • The legs lift off the floor during the stability test. This is a major failure. • Both cot ends don't have any breathable zones. This is a major failure. • Borderline ease of use - it's a bit hard to wrap mattress around cot when refolding.

The eight Choice Recommended models were (in order from lowest priced to highest):

Childcare Galaxy XL Travel Cot $70
    Childcare Orbit XL $78
Love n Care Playland Travel Cot $88
    Babylove Cruiser Portable Cot $99
Steelcraft Siesta 2 in 1 Portable Cot $150
    Childcare 4-in-1 Travel Cot $160
    Babyhood Bambino Dormire $199
    Fisher-Price Luv U Zoo $200

Some are cheaper than the Roger's ones and also recommended….

  • These things weigh a bit - keep in mind where you're going to take it.
I bought a similar one, steelcraft sonnet $109 as it assembles in 37seconds - but its heavy.
    Fine for grandparent weekends away!

  • Thanks for the list of those recommended by choice.
Has anyone had any experience with the cheaper $49.00 travel portacot available from Kmart or Target?
I think the brand is 'Baby Solutions'
