  • I have the blue and it looks real nice

  • Any experience or review with eGlobal?

    • Im about to go through their warranty process for a LG G3. The proximity sensor os cactus (stays on).

I'm not feeling confident about it based on what I've read. :(

    • +2

wouldn't buy anything from here again. I've bought 4 mobiles from here. Their post sale service is horrible. If mobile is still under insurance period and you have to make a claim, they ask you to post the item to Hong Kong. no depot here. plus no replacement phone for the time they fix the other one and no time frames of how long it'll take to fix it. never again.

      • +3

Completely agree. Once they have your money they are SO UNHELPFUL

They lied about having a phone in stock. Waited 3 weeks, still not shipped. They refused to provide a refund. PayPal put the money on hold, and eventually returned it to me.

        • Yeah, I remember now- I had the same problem. When complained, they said they sent me a $2 HDMI cable without even my consent. pfffttt. I wanted my phone on time!

The price is listed at $583 . What is the code for?

    • $10 discount, which is then $609.66 total, so no idea why sub $600 is mentioned by OP. (unless you choose shipping without any tracking)

  • +4

Told myself I'd wait for another sub 600 price… Guess its time to put my money where my mouth is

  • isn't it the 815T model we need for Australia and not this 815? (more compatible 4g bands)

    • That, and 818P as I'm looking at two networks.

    • H815T is the one you'd want if using Optus or their resellers. Telstra it doesn't matter

    • In the context of the 'T' - only if you live in Canberra, or if you are a FIFO politician, forever on the 'other', 'Yes', network.

Optus may rollout their 2300MHz bandwidth (only extra band-support advantage of the 'T' model) to other cities, but maybe not for quite some time and probably just by way of the motivation for 'carrier aggregation' - combined channel speed-increase technology, for future compatible devices.

Being tested now and does look pretty interesting, but it isn't applicable for use with the 815T - or any device currently available.

      • This is interesting. I know it's the band in question is only in Canberra now but you're saying that even if it's turned on elsewhere it's not essential for decent 4G coverage?

        • +3

No, not at that frequency. Other - also high - frequencies will always be transmitted from any tower transmitting 2300MHz.

For both Optus and Telstra, the band-support that you want present and correct on any new 4G handset that you buy is 700MHz (Band 28) - for distance coverage, signal bounce / building penetration.

Huge areas are being rolled out by both carriers in outer surburbs, regional and rural. The areas to be covered in the suburbs of cities (all around Australia), and the extra distance coverage afforded by the lower frequency, will blur very nicely for better 4G coverage in current, closer-to-CDB, blackspots.

Vodafone have split there modest (as Daver knows) 3G 850MHz allocation for 4G/LTE use, and support for that is also on LG G4 models.

Incidentally, given mention in the thread, neither of the two models of the OnePlus Two will have 700MHz B28 support onboard.

        • @Tas: Cheers for detailed reply. I was looking at http://oztowers.com/ which shows plenty of Optus 4G 2300Mhz Band 40 towers active here is Brisbane, with more proposed this year. So it looks like it's not just Canberra, but you're saying it's on the tower but not in use?

I'm ready to buy the G4 but the h815T version isn't in stock at t-dimension and others, trying not to be impatient and buy a phone that's not ideal for my use/future use

        • +3

@hen dawg: Given proximity to both other high-side frequencies used by Optus (1800 and 2600MHz), I envisage no benefit in the context of basic 4G reception, sufficient that it would lead me to pay any significant premium for the 815T.

If active for general use (beyond testing for the full-on carrier aggregation tech planned later), the 815T will at least be compatible with the same single-channel TD-LTE setup that has been running as a testbed in Canberra, and probamaybly, basic dual-channel when it arrives.

That is a guess. Optus are using time-division duplex for their aggregation tech, and Telstra are going to be using frequency-division duplex for theirs.

Unless you can find specific reference to that level of compatibility in 815T specs - somewhere - it is a coin toss.

As I said, I wouldn't be paying any significant premium for the 815T, but it's up to you.

        • @Tas: MASSIVE thanks for explaining all of this, I'm sure others here will have found it just as helpful

        • @hen dawg: Happy to help.

  • It's a nice phone, good for those that must have a removable battery and sd card slot. I would get one if I didn't have a note 4. :)

  • +1

Don't forget Cashreward for 1% discount

  • +1

At this price there's no reason to get one plus two

    • too soon.

    • Did you get an invite?

      • No I never wanted one

  • +1

I am really concerned about their warranty issues…

Saw a number of posts on OZBargain related warranty issues.

  • for how much it is sold in Australia?

    • Last thursday I saw it with a $998 pricetag on it in Harvey Norman (Kalgoorlie, WA)

    • I got one for $792 at Optus VIC

  • Reasons for getting this over the Note 4?

    • Better camera. Easier to hold & use but still a large screen. Not full of Samsung bloatware and Touchwiz. Cheaper perhaps?

  • The same version is now only $605.46 for blue or red leather from below. Who some may regard as a better seller
    http://www.t-dimension.com/revamp/-c-0/lg-g4-h815-32gb-lte-g…

    • …+$33 postage.

      • Postage is free, there is a free option you can select. I'm told it still comes via express courier.
        Now down to $603.66

  • Has anyone else ordered one? I purchased it yesterday afternoon and wondering if anyone has gotten an email saying dispatched.

    • +1

I bought one last night and only received the order confirmation email. I asked them if it was in stock and they said it will take another 3 days to ship out. Wish I saw the t-dimension deal before ordering. But it seems cancelling might stretch this whole ordeal out further based on comments above.

      • +1

Dam okay… Was hoping it would be a quick turn around for us but I guess not :/ I ordered the red leather backed one. Hoping I get it by next week the latest.

        • +1

Just an update, I ordered a red one as well. It was processed and shipped out today.. yay!

    • Mines also currently flying over here as we speak!

  • Actually, the red and Blue have dropped to $579 as well. Updated the OP.

  • +1

Price dropped again for black ($567) and blue ($574)

    • 563 for the black one now ahahahahah

  • +1

Knew the price drop will happen. Looks like under $500 is possible by Christmas.

IMO you should buy flagships on the later half of the year after its release

  • +1

So mine arrived today in bubble wrap. However the actual lg g4 box wasn't sealed and there are finger prints on the protective screen…. Has anyone else recevied theres? I'm not very happy at the moment.

    • Thanks for the update, guess I won't be purchasing from them.

      • Exact same! I assumed it was opened by customs. The battery sticker seemed to have been peeled off once before. Phone did have a fresh "up time" and seemed brand new but I was not happy and a little concerned it wasn't fully sealed as well. Also mine has the North American charger, which I assume is also used in Taiwan.

    • +1

Previously gathered that LG don't factory-seal their phones.
Any stickers or shrink-wrapping on LG phones is faux-factory-sealing and is only done by some sellers / telcos down the chain.

A number of grey-market distributors, of their own volition, or if otherwise instructed, power-up phones in order to try and reduce the percentage of DOA returns.

My grey market purchases have been pristine - so far.
So as not to perturb customers, careful grey-marketeers will be very careful and not leave any fingerprints at all on the screen protector.
If a battery needs to be inserted, they will use a spare, and not the included one.

It does sound as if eGlobal are not one of the more 'careful' sellers.

However, if and with no other signs of a problem, your phone screens are pristine under the protector, you are likely to be very happy.

The G4 has a good camera. Go and point that laser-assisted focus at something nice!

  • $558 for the brown leather now - shipping is $40 though…

Anyone able to confirm if these come with the Quadbeat earphones and spare (plastic) back cover?

  • +1

    Darn it.

Ordered the H818H/P without realising its a H818H/P. Send them a email to confirm. But what a cock up by me!

    • Hi Speedz, im actually after dual sim version, did you need to ofload it?

      • Hey Marsh.

Apparently they only have the T815 'H' and not the 'P' version, I've since cancelled my order and received the refund amount in my Paypal account.

        • Whats the difference between the P and H?

        • @Marsh:

          Actually its H815 'N' and 'P' model.

Either way P from memory have more bands than the N version, N from memory is the HK version and P is the Filipino version. (might be wrong with the P model native market)

Have a dig around various forums and you shall find out a bit more about the difference.
