Sounds great. I'm holding out for one with a mic'ed remote control.

  • Huh. So, Xiaomi Box for $72 delivered or this?

I know spec-wise the Xioami is weaker but curious about codec support. Getting a lot of green screen issues with Hi10P AVC video

  • This is the same one that they stuffed up couple of weeks ago?

    • Specs wise it's almost the same, except for a few minor differences like 8GB storage instead of 16GB.

      • …and this one being a bit expensive.

  • it looks like the one i ordered two weeks ago. i am still waiting. their support replied my email that they are running out of stock. have to wait at least after 16 august. even though when i ordered, it showed the delivery only take 3 to 7 via air mail. not happy at all. how come they are selling the same tv box again just under another brand name

2nd batch is shipped out from 1st of Aug and third batch is from 16th of Aug. The email seems to be a generic response, so it's still very likely that you're in the 2nd batch. Delivery time does not include processing time. Order has to be processed and packaged before it is shipped.

This box is a generic version of the Tronsmart one with a few less features (e.g. Tronsmart's OTA updates, 8GB storage etc), so that's why it's cheaper.

      • About that, I didn't place an order until the first batch was out of stock and the website was showing all new orders would be sent out on August 1st, that was the vital thing for me to buy as it's the second batch. On the 24th I get an email saying it's been sent. Anything I can do in this situation? I feel I've been screwed.

talk to geekbuying, discussing it here will achieve essentially nothing.

@gizmomelb: ^ This. My contacts at GeekBuying are in Marketing. If I tell them about an issue all they can do is get the sales department to contact the customer. I'd do a lot more if I could.

      • Because i cant edit my other comment… Just realised it actually says "ships in 2-7 days". That means it will take 2-7 days to process when it's in stock.

      • So I am just wondering who is going to provide the updates for this unit ?

        I just bought the Tronsmart.

        • If the factory provides firmware updates for this device, then Geekbuying will put it on their blog. Sometimes factories will only release firmware updates if the demand is big enough.

As for the Tronsmart R68.. they will release OTA updates through an app installed on the device. They're expecting to release their next update within 3 weeks apparently.
