No, this is the 1tb not 500gb
Now that's a checkmate!
The toy sale didn't list the 1TB, only the 500gb bundle.
Happychild100 are you really that angry about someone posting a deal?? he has no reason to lie about knowing lol
I'm not angry, I just don't get how it can be "just found" during the known toysale, it's not exactly a surprise. It was already mentioned on this deal hours ago as well
you have a point!
Fixed it.
Still reckon upgrading the hard disk on a cheaper PS4 is the way to go.
Yep, $419 with 3 games, wait for ~$60-70 1tb hdd deal, swap out and chuck the 500gb in a $10 external enclosure.
true ozbargainers would take care harvesting the hdd so they can still use the enclosure the new hdd came in…. seagate 2tb back up slim ftw
yeah I was gonna say that but not sure if there'd be compatibility issues or something
Takes all of 10 mins to do and you can put in a 7200 drive. Not sure what speed the drive is in the 1tb version… But is definitely an upgrade most ps4 owners should consider.
i didn't know you could swap out the hdd!
Won't void the warranty either. Sony was pretty good at making it easy for both ps3 and ps4.
@Third_Gear: cheers, for those interested here's a link i found that goes through in detail what to do https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5…
I personally will be waiting for the CUH-12xx series. Shouldn't be too far away.
Isnt that just a tiny weight and power reduction?
Yeah, i would honestly wait until they made a completely new body.
What will be the difference compared to the current/1TB consoles?
Mechanical buttons, slightly less power draw, non gloss HDD cover and ~6db quieter.
buttons on the controller? 6db quieter is good i suppose the rest seems a bit meh
Buttons on the console instead of touch sensitive switches.
it's the buttons on the system.
So far the PS4 has a problem of ejecting discs randomly due to some flaws in the eject button, the CUH-12xx series will solve that.
edit: above post bet me to it.@plmko: Thanks. Bit of a nuffy upgrade overall as far as im concerned.
Will they sell the HDD Cover on its own, I hate Gloss but I'm not buying a new one just for that. Rather wait till the slim comes out
Is this not the new model with 1tb HDD?
Nevermind, found the answer is no.

yes, but the item is specifically mentioned (last item)!
it's not mentioned in the title
Just checked my PS4 Hard Drive and I only have 60gb left!!!
Might have to delete some games I have finished but I'm worried that I will loose the DLC once it goes off the PSN and if its not on my Hard Drive, how do I re download it if its taken down?
On another note, how much is a 2TB Hard Drive for the PS4?
keep you eyes peeled here for any 2.5" drive on sale. detailed article here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-ps4-ha…
Thanks
Yer I thought it wouldn't be worth the $$$ for SSDJust want a 7200 2TB be nice
@ Twisty - You can now do a full backup of your system including all save games, DLC, installed games , the lot.
You need one of the latest updates to do it so you're better off updating to the newest one if you don't already have it.
You just save it all to an external USB HDD, swap over the new bigger HDD into the PS4, then connect your external USB HDD to the PS4 and load it all back on. It takes a while depending on how much data you have on your PS4, but it leaves your system exactly as it was before, only with a lot more spare room. As mentioned earlier by Tal_Shiar , the 2GB Seagate slim is a great choice. Thanks
How much they go for mate?
OOOPPPs, I meant 2TB, not 2GB :) .
Officeworks has them for $149, or MSY have them for $131 if you have one nearby.
Keep an eye out for DSE sales, I think I got mine from them for $119 delivered a while ago.
You can carefully separate the case with a credit card or similar, then put your old PS4 HDD in there for a backup drive.
Carefully warming up the case edges on the aluminium side with a hairdrier will make the case come apart easily as it softens the sticky glue that they use to seal the cover.Seagate Expansion 2TB Portable Officeworks $129.
Seagate 2.5" portable drives are the only external brand that contain a standard 9.5mm 2.5" Sata drive. Unfortunately 5400rpm only. All the others brands such as Toshiba,Samsung and Western Digital usually either have sata port soldered directly to the motherboard or are too fat to fit into game consoles.
@Twisty:
Not sure, I bought the 2TB Seagate Slim from DSE.
These are back in stock online.
