ME Bank appears to again be offering the 5% cashback to new customers who open a EveryDay Transaction Account . This is the same as the expired deal last month

Keep in mind, they have occasional targeted referral deals so it may be worth waiting around for one of those… (like this EXPIRED one)

From the site:
*Available if you open your first EveryDay Transaction Account (ETA) between 3/03/14 and 30/07/15. Receive 5% cash back on all contactless purchases made within Australia using Tap & Go for amounts of $100 or less for 6 months from the date your account is opened.

The 5% cash back offer will not apply to contactless purchases which;
(1) are non-personal including transactions for business purposes;
(2) exceed the fair use we expect by an individual using an ETA for personal use.

We may at our discretion cancel the cash back offer on any or all contactless purchases and/or close the account.

If eligible, the 5% cash back will be paid into your account within 30 days after the date the transaction is debited to your account. Only one cash back offer per customer and account.

  the FAQ doesn't say anything about previous customer. I recently close my account with them because I hardly use it after my 5% cashback ran out half a year ago. Does anyone know if they will give me another 6 months if I sign up again? If not, how long do I need to be not a customer to be considered a "new" customer?

    Yeh mate. I did this. I have an account back in early 2013 but sadly join them from the Online Saving account for high interest offer (link with ETA account). I have close the account over a year then never have use it and not participate any 5% deal.

    I have apply for this few months ago with the Our OB $50 refer bonus gold rush. Found out not only not $50 and also 5%. Asked them why because have am account back then in 2013. A lady ring me after couple of days explain me this. I tried to convince I never took the offer and honour me the 5% and she arrogantly refuse it.

    So, here is my story

  I wonder if you qualify if you are a former ETA holder (but now closed) ?
  Maybe not with the T&C wording
