I work with the team at Smart Commercial Solar who have been featured in the Australian Financial Review and Sky Business for their innovative work helping businesses and organisations in Australia save money with solar and smart energy bill analysis. Many businesses are struggling with the rapidly rising costs of electricity. Huon and the team at Smart Commercial Solar are offering free bill analysis for businesses until July 17. Depending on the complexity of the bill, this service can cost more than a thousand dollars, but it is being offered for free for a limited time because Smart Commercial Solar wants to get the word out there about the potential savings and understanding of business energy usage that can come from the kind of in-depth bill analysis their team is capable of delivering. So if you are a business or know of a business that is seeking to understand your energy use and hopefully lower your energy costs, please check out the website www.smartcommercialsolar.com.au and use the contact info there or call direct on 1 300 044 087. Please no residential, non-commercial queries. Thank you.

they probably get kickbacks and commissions on switching you to another provider…
Free power bill analysis, they normally charge around $1000.
sounds dodgy to me…
Hi Tuzil and Jv,
Thanks for your comments. There is nothing "dodgy" about the offer. Many businesses are paying higher energy costs than they need to as a result of things like not rationalising usage to correspond with cheaper energy prices throughout the day, etc. In many cases, simple fixes can lead to big savings. Smart Commercial Solar can analyse business energy bills to determine likely areas for these savings. The Australian Financial Review article gives some more insight into this thinking. This current offer is really a way for Smart Commercial Solar to help get the word out there about businesses often paying too much for energy and raising awareness about alternative power sources like solar that have become economically viable for businesses. I hope this clarifies things a bit. Happy to answer any questions. Thank you.In case it is of additional interest, here is a link to the AFR article that shows more about Smart Commercial Solar's thinking when it comes to energy savings for business:

mods to can it?
Not sure why this would be classified as spam since it is an offer designed to benefit the Ozbargain community with features of the offer explained. If this isn't the right forum then by all means the offer should be removed from the site with an explanation of why it has been removed. Happy to discuss with moderators.
I think as this is a consumer-focused site that people expect non-commercial deals.
Also, there is a fee waived, but the post doesn't mention the eventual costs or requirements of going forward with a quote. It's a business to make money, and there has to be something in it for the company at the end of it all. So only mentioning free quote might irk some people.
Thanks for raising these points, TheFrunj. They're well taken. We certainly don't intend to irk anyone. Our thinking is that this offer would appeal to the business owners who are part of the Ozbargain community, especially those who might be here usually for a consumer-focused activity but who in seeing this offer recognise that they could use some help with their high business electricity bills. In terms of associated fees or eventual costs or other requirements, I'm happy you brought this up, because there aren't any and there are no obligations. For example, an analysis of an energy bill might suggest a few no-cost adjustments that a business can do to lower their bills, we will share this finding with the business at no cost and they can make, or not make, the adjustments themselves. If installing a solar system for the business is something that could help (it won't be for everybody), we will share that suggestion too, but it will be only that, a suggestion with no obligation attached to it. Raising awareness about what we do is ultimately what is "in it" for the company. We have found that many businesses simply don't know that there are many ways to lower energy costs, and we want to raise visibility about this and about what we can do. Smart Commercial Solar is also a data-driven company so business billing analysis serves as learning for us, enabling us to better serve businesses.
Again, thanks for your feedback!
