They got free earplugs too? :P

But if that's not a glitch and subsequently honoured in the store, then it's an awesome find! :D

    • +2

Now there will be even less jobs for kids as the machines takeover!

      • +2

        as the machines takeover

Its only a matter of time … and ill be back

      • The kids will have jobs managing the machines, developing and placing them, authorising exceptions, cleaning, repairing, maintaining, servicing

While someone's at it, can they try that 1/2-price family meal hack that was posted on here a while back and let me know how they go?!? From memory, it revolved around including a (or numerous?) soft-drink from 'Un Zud' in your order… I kUd you not.

    • +11

I was the one who posted that and maccas have fixed that now.

      • just use babycino instead of L & P

      • +5

I went to McDonald's a couple of nights ago with some mates, and wanted to order the family dinner box at the kiosk.

They all came up as unavailable. Frustrated, I went to the counter and I asked them why.

They said the meals were still available, but some 'social media thing' had gone 'viral' about a hack making them half-price.

I knew it would be on here somewhere..

        • Yeah, all maccas restaurants were sent an email to remove the family deals from the kiosks

        • you can still order babycinos from the register

Friends sister tried to order the salted caramel shake the other day and they said they did not exist..

    • Yeah, same happened to me. I got chocolate and strawberry ones anyway.

      • +1

Ah, cool. Apparently the person I was talking about didn't get to exchange flavours.

l2=R yes I know it's stupid. I didn't know I would stay with this forum this long.

      • There used to be a song in the 60-70s thst was called something like Itchicoo Sunrise. Probably not the answer you were looking for but wonders if your song was a remake of that.

Maybe you are becoming lactose intolerant.

    • +2

Well maybe it does have milk in it then, not lard like the urban legend….

      • +1

        MMMM PIGS FAT ! LOL

  • -6

Save your body the trouble of digesting this lard in a cup. There's far too much fat and sugar in maccers shakes.

    • +6

What milkshake doesn't have fat and sugar in it?

    • +9

I have no idea why you think they add lard to a milkshake lel …

    • +1

Anyway you should cook a roast in lard yummy…… but before the kids start filling a cup of it, trying to emulate a choc shake maybe we could just look at the ingredients

SHAKE MIX: Milk, Milk Solids, Sugar, Maltodextrin, Cream, Stabilisers (412, 407, 407a, 466), Mineral Salt (452), Flavours.

      OR

Milk, Sugar, Milk Solids, Glucose Syrup, Vegetable Gums (412, 407, 407a, 466), Stabiliser (452), Flavour.

CHOCOLATE SHAKE SYRUP: Invert Syrup, Glucose Syrup (contains preservative sulphur dioxide), Water, Cocoa Powder, Malt Syrup, Salt, Preservative (211), Acidity Regulator (330), Flavour.

      Contains milk and sulphites

  • Tried at Canberra (Braddon), not working.

This doesn't work. This is my local mcdonalds, it's a glitch.

However when I first came accross this and ordered the "salted caramel" milkshake, they got confused and gave me a salted caramel macaroon. So hey, you might get something.

  • +5

The manager at my store stood at the kiosks. It seemed like he knew what was going on. However, he was still pretty cool to honour the deal as long as we didn't make a big deal about the glitch and tell the other 40 or so people in the store.

Apart from free milkshakes, is it just me or is Macca's getting really expensive? As in, seemingly more expensive every visit, which isn't that often. I got a cheeseburger meal the other day with a shake and it cost me over $7. I was like, "Damn, I really have to stop coming here".

    • +3

Macca's might be getting dearer - but AMEX is here to fix that…

      • +1

I went to Macca's for the first time years due to the $5 back from $15 spend deal. Is there more coming?

        • +1

More AMEX deals at Macca's you mean?

          Wouldn't know that, sorry.

    • +1

Yes, a filletofish at my local store is like $4.50 which is ridiculous for how small the thing is.

    • +4

maccas is expensive these day. not a single doubt

  • Has anyone tried Punchbowl McDonald's? Can't be bothered going if they are not free

  • +2

As far as I know each individual store can have their own pricing on products chosen by the franchise.

And as such the self order monitors are programed individually at different stores too.

So there are going to be glitches in programming in prices at each individual stores since they're new.

One I found before (and posted in the forums) was some of the drinks have -$ signs next to the price instead of pluses.

The particular one I found subtracted ~$3.50 from the price of the meal and instructed the cashiers to give me 2 orange juices instead of one and made the meal cheaper than the muffin by itself.

It's a good idea to keep an eye on them and play with the machines if you're bored enough.

But I wouldn't expect any of these to be found at other stores.

Stanmore Maccas is a great pass over after a night out drunk at the city

    • +1

Indeed. But as someone who lives nearby it's pretty shocking how people think they can just throw their rubbish onto Bridge Rd. Some poor kid gets sent out every night in the middle of the night with a garbage bag to pick it all up, yet by morning there's still always packaging in the gutters. People are pigs…

Lou: You know, I went to the McDonald's in Shelbyville on Friday night.
    Wiggum: The McWhat?
Lou: Uh, the McDonald's restaurant. I've never heard of it either, but they have over 2,000 locations in this state alone.
    Eddie: Must've sprung up overnight.
Lou: You know, the funniest thing though, it's the little differences.
    Wiggum: Example.
Lou: Well, at McDonald's you can buy a Krusty Burger with cheese, right? But they don't call it a Krusty Burger with cheese.
Wiggum: Get out! Well, what do they call it?
Lou: A Quarter Pounder with cheese.
Wiggum: Quarter Pounder with cheese? Well, I can picture the cheese, but, uh, do they have Krusty partially gelatinated non-dairy gum-based beverages?
Lou: Mm-hm. They call 'em, "shakes."
Eddie: Huh, shakes. You don't know what you're gettin'

    • -1

Huh, shakes. You don't know what you're gettin'

      Brilliance.

You can see the problem with obesity in Australia when you see the upvoting of these lard "bargains".

    • +2

So where is the lard ?

      • Yes … you would think the only use if the term lard would be reserved for "lard asses." But that would not be a nice thing to say in this day of political correctness.

  • my local McDonald's dont even have self service lol ~ sydney south west area

    • -1

      Do you mean self ordering?

    • +3

Same as mine…. i tried going and cooking my bigmac and they kicked me out.

"Sucnip".. Always good for a milkshake.

  • +1

getting real expensive I still only go there if a promo is on like the $5 meals. they had small Mac meal a while back for $5 then the double cheese burger meal for $5. when no promos are on I eat dominos or Pizza Hut for $5. dominos even have a promo where for an extra $5 you get 2 sides. was coming back from an outing with 2 kids in the car, 2 pizzas chips and 1.25 litre diet coke $15 and the store guy even had disposable cups if we wanted to eat there at the store. can't see maccas feeding 2 kids and an adult for $15 off a published menu ( no glitches) on a regular basis. even subway has $5 meals 6" sub and coke for $5. maccas really need to make sure they have something affordable on the menu because their regular prices are now crazy.

    • That's why they have a loose change menu

    • Subway meals even taste better … apart from actually having plenty of salad … and being healthier. Perhaps they need some collectable toys as a marketing tool to get the kids more interested.

  • Picked up two at Stanmore on the way home last night. As they were free had to order a $2 burger as well.

They don't have salted caramel or vanilla malt, basically ended up with a vanilla and a banana. They were exceedingly terrible.

  • +1

My go to meal is a medium sized double beef n bacon for $6. Sometimes go a small drink to lower the price, sometimes bump it up with a small shake.
The 2 cheesey n small fries shopadocket coupon is also pretty great.

  • McDonalds Livingston WA is a no show on the free shakes…..

  • This is no longer working at Stanmore. Tried the promotions section on self serve menu today at 3pm and shakes aren't listed
