even so, they should at least either modify the website or honor the pricing when the customer walks-in to the shop. that is what i am not happy about. if i called before and they said it's not available in store then i'm happy to leave it there but when i've made the trip and even had proof. then they reject me, it's just poor customer service. i have named the sales person on my email to EBGames, i will not shame him here on the web but please EBGames, please, DON'T DO THIS AGAIN!!!!!
As Turd stated, pretty sure it was stated quite a few times that the sale was online only. Seems like you are complaining over nothing, since the sale was not meant to apply to bricks & mortar stores.
They probably allocate a certain quantity for online sales periodically. Some games that were out of stock are now back in stock.
Wii Super Mario Bros is now back in stock, so get in quick. But it doesn't come with the free cap, probably the cap is really out of stock.
just checked DJ hero is $99 bad luck i missed out for ps3 version :(

i agree with cloud226. i too checked at 1201am to find the server clogged and even when it finally loaded the page. the prices were still the same (no sale). the sale pricing only appeared a few hours later. EB please get your act together!! False advertising!

There seems to be an ever increasing number of companies that have "online only" sales and don't upgrade or have the infrastructure to handle the traffic. Also like the fact that preowned games are often more expensive than new games … up there for thinking.
I think you have a great point and most people have found easier ways to get bargains without going through the frustration online ,i jut dont bother with these anymore !! nor do i recommend them to anyone
Exactly. Why bother even having heavy webpages if your infrastructure cannot support them during peak times?
Given that so many of these items are below cost, it's probably in their best interest for the server to drop like a fly..

I'm sure it's below cost. Where else have you seen it cheaper? I think the sale was a bit of a flop (with many of these "mad" bargains been seen off-the-shelf for the same price in the last couple of weeks), but I can't say I've seen DJ Hero priced like that so far.

I just got wii resort and new super mario bros. Only $115 for both! Super mario bros was out of stock when I first got on the site, but as I was browsing the status changed to "in stock" so I grabbed one. It seems they are updating the stock once it displays "out of stock" on the website. Their website is soooo slow…..

Get you in the door, then don't even offer you the full discount.

Granted it would probably be easier if they just offered free shipping across the board, and not require you to enter a code. Some people just forget. Why not reorder with the free shipping and then cancel the one with shipping. They are pretty quick at responding to your emails to customer service.
So you click through the promotional email, get to the page with the discounted product and then don't qualify for the final part of the discount because you don't enter their promo code.
Come on - this is an intentional way to scam people out of taking FULL advantage of the promotion.
EB Games try every trick in the book to get out of price matching - this is their latest faux sale.
I tried to order DJ HERO last night, it took the code before the promotion started (or so I found out later), but didn't give me any discount APART from the shipping, then the product was immediately sold out, then it became available again, now poor old rezok probably went through all of the same crud only to forget to use the code and get the free shipping.
By allowing the product to be entered in at the promo rate, you "feel" you've got the discount, by the time you realise you didn't get the postage rebate - you've already clicked through and the sale is over.
Trickery at its' best.

a) Read the promotion beforehand properly

b) Check what they are being charged at the checkoutthen I can't see how you can really hold anyone else responsible. Yes, it'd be nice if the code was applied for the consumer but to be honest many, many sites run in a similar fashion. It's not trickery, it's customers being lazy or impatient and trying to shoot through the payment process.

Can you return games purchased online? Like you can return games purchased in store within 7 days?
Interested in getting Wii Just Dance as a party game but all reviews say it's crap, but for $38 it may be worth a shot. But then again do not want to keep it if it's really that bad.
Well, apparently you can only exchange your order for another game if you keep the game sealed and opened products can only be exchanged for the same item. So you can't really take it back and grab something else if you didn't like it.

No sign of dispatch yet on two separate orders. They better get a wriggle on if they want to stand by their guarantee of delivery by 11th December. Maybe in "EB Speak" this means they just have to deliver ie. dispatch by that day, not actually you having received it.
They changed the date to the 16th.

At the time of both my orders the delivery "guarantee" was still the 11th. I don't care if they changed it once they were overwhelmed with orders, as far as I am concerned delivery by the 11th still applies. Otherwise, it's clearly false advertising.
I suspect a lot of orders haven't shipped because they don't have the stock. They are probably scrambling to source 1000 Sports Resorts, 1000 Mario Karts etc etc.

I've made 2 orders, one in the morning one in the afternoon, the morning one has been shipped today according to the email they sent, the other one is still in "processing" status.

Sydney metro here ordered dj hero and fifa 10 for ps3 at about 10am monday. My status is also still showing processing :( Very disappointing as i have annual leave booked for tomorrow. Even if they ship this tomorrow from qld, i won't receive it until monday at the easliest which to me means they have not upheld their delivery guarantee which was advertised at the time of sale.

Just called then and they of course got hammered, with over 10 thousand orders. Also told they are trying there best which I do think they are, at the end of the day I got a item very cheap so I guess I can wait for it to get to me. Most delays will be with the big ticket items.

Just got my parcel today, glad they managed to make the deadline. But I still haven't got that dispatch email yet lol.
It seems when online store is out of stock it automatically defaults to in store only. While the banner says price is not available in store, the detail page does show the lower price with the in store only icon. Yes, it is confusing.
The stores would have been briefed by the HQ about the Monday special and instructed not to price match.
