Still only really if you're already going. To be fair, if you're going just to pick up one thing, gotta factor in petrol plus what you feel your time is worth. But than again, that's the premium for getting it straight away.
or you can order it online elsewhere, pay shipping and still pay less without leaving your house. Can't comment on this sale but EB's prices are pretty inflated and free or cheap shipping isn't a huge bonus for something other places do for free or a few bucks.
Bottom line is, its an EB Games sale. Probably worthwhile for old games, but for anything new, you'd save more $$ price matching them to begin with.

I think he's potentially talking about their return policy. Are games that are returned under their 7day (and now til 15th Jan) policy still sold as new?
I worked at 3 different EB Games for about two and a half years and I can tell you, yes they sell new games that aren't really new in store. Games that are returned under the 7 day policy are sold new over (and sometimes over and over again).
When employees remove the discs out of cases for security they do not take care of the discs, hence a lot of new discs have scratches on them.
As far as actually selling second hand as new, quite often this happens as well when the store is down a new copy of a game and up a second hand (which quite frequently happens when someone accidently sells a new disc for second hand). In this case they just choose the best looking second hand disc and sell as new.
This sort of thing is just the tip of the iceberg with what EB actually get away with.
But as far as online, not 100% how the head office guys go about selling their inventory like this.@Drakes_Misfortune: Yeah, that's what I thought. I'd be a pretty pissed customer if I bought a "new" game that was really repackaged after being used for the next month (their Christmas return policy).
Fortunately, I tend to shop for games either online or at Big W/Kmart/Target… EB games rarely prices competitively. (without matching)
@Drakes_Misfortune: the price you pay for being able to return it i guess. you'd never be able to return at jb or big w if you disliked the game.

Can you get the stores to price match on Monday? There are 3 or 4 EB Games within 10 minutes walk I can go to.
maybe, try your luck. some stores pricematch anyone, and some won't pricematch another shop 1 min down the road.
EB Games official pricematch policy states that it has to be an in store price, hence they won;t do it. But maybe you'll get lucky and get some young kid who isn't sure what's happening to run it through.
You'd expect them to match their own prices, though!?

I will not deal with EBGames…EVER! I went to the store very soon after goodfairy1 made the comment to purchase New Super Mario Bros however…the sales staff @ Box Hill VIC refused to sell it to me at $58. I even had a printout of the page and he refused to see it saying it was an online sale only. On the website/printout I had, it clearly stated that it was available in store and for $58 (no free hat). I am surprised that EBGames was so reluctant to do my business and honor what was stated on the website. As of 930am, they changed the status on the website to say 'Out of Stock'. Very lame EBGames! Very lame. I was on the phone to Customer Service when it all happened. Even the lady on the phone refused to budge saying it was 'Out of Stock'. I have written a complaint to EBGames. I would like to make a complaint to the ACCC for false advertising as well. Is this possible? Anyone can help? Thanks!

Thanks for the update Tiger. I've just checked the website and they've clearly changed it back to 'In Stock'. I'm glad EBGames have realized that what they have done to a customer. It caused me time/money (petrol) to go into their shop just to be disappointed and rejected. EBGames, if you are reading this….Please learn to honor your customers and trust them especially when it is clearly not the customers' fault. I'm sure a lot of people take advantage of the company's good deeds but at the expense of genuine buyers/customers…it's just not fair! HHHmph! Sorry if i sound like a whinger but if you just did what I did and went into the store, you'd feel the same. Merry Christmas ppl!

Turd, the add banner on the front page does but the price on the page detail (eg when you click in to the 'New Super Mario Bros' page) it doesn't state that. It stated '$58 In Store Only'. Well, now it doesn't. Trust me, I have a printout of the page, if only I can post it up here! BAH!
