  • What if I only want to send 1kg

  • And is this actual weight or cubic weight?

    • I was informed by my LPO it's the actual weight. If you look at the Australia Post postage calculator it only assesses overseas parcel prices by their actual weight.

      • Ahh yes, you are correct. I should know this as I send parcels overseas regularly, but simply forgot :P

  • how much for 8kg and 1gram?

    • $120.60 or $126.65 depending on destination

How many cans of baby formula/discounted vitamins can you fit in 8kg parcel?

    • I reckon 5 or 6 if they are 1kg cans.
Mmmm healthy profit can be made.

      • Definitely, especially for vitamins like fish oil and glucosamine, fatter profit per 8kg parcel. Now what I need is a business partner in China to start this business venture.

      • really? how much does 1 can usually sell for over there?

        • I don't know but there are uni students and what not making a few extra bucks out of this. All I know is that imported milk powder is bloody expensive in China. Huge demand, limited stock, all because of the milk powder scandal in China and a general population boom from the one child policy being relaxed.

        • @blahman:

Not just milk powder. Also vitamins. The uni students post the ads on wechat. Then they go to the chemist store to buy the goods. Then they use the souvenir shop's carrier to ship it. On weekends there are lines outside of Hurstville chemist on Forest Road. It's annoying I cannot get Devondale milk power from Coles as is always out of stock and only Coles brand is left. As always the locals suffer.

    • 6 x 900 tin plus the carton weigh just under 7.5kg.

  • Oh! ,so Asia consist of 5 countries.

    • Did anyone mention about Asia in this post before you?

    • Sorry, the word is in the picture. AusPost just want to make the title as simple as possible. Then they listed the 5 countries in the description so it's no big deal to me.

Just wish they did the same to other Asian countries.

It is normally $10 + $11/kg so for an 8kg parcel you save 10 bucks.
