With the recent NY sale fares, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few.
We used the NY Pass and found it pretty good value as it ticked off a number of places we wanted to see and even filled a few gaps that we hadn't considered. We also had a coupon for 20% off at the time so I'd have to give this a [+1]
A great alternative is the http://www.citypass.com/new-york which is valid for 9 consecutive days . Much less attractions but I think all attractions are quality and worth your time.
This pass is a must for first time NYC visitors, and even better value with the 20% off. Don't over commit on the number of days, otherwise you feel obliged to use and miss other stuff.
This thing always seems to be on sale for 15-20% iirc (we looked at it last year. In the end I'm glad we didn't buy it, at best it would have been break-even for us and caused a weird schedule)
Ps: you need about 10 days in NY NY imho. Which allows a day trip to Niagara falls. That's a very busy 10 days.. Add 2 more if you're into art

We bought a 3days pass the last time there, weather wasn't too good on the last day of the pass to visit one of the nearby attraction. However, they allowed pre-purchase ticket for the following day, so we bought tickets for the next day to be used on the last day of the pass and kind of extended the 3 days pass to a 4 days use. The following day weather was perfect for the attraction.
I wonder how many people here will take up this offer?
