  • not a terrible deal…. if you are in no rush you can get fully synthetic from other manufacturers for $30 for 5L, inc castrol edge, shell Helix ultra and I have also seen Valvoline and Penrite do it once….. nulon not as often but I once bought a 6L bottle of it for $35

    • castrol edge isnt fully synthetic

      helix ultra is

i fully recommend helix ultra and when its on sale, it about 50% off retail for top shelf synthetic product… well worth it assuming your car isnt a camry sport

      • sure it isn't PAO but for a general everyday driver, they won't notice the difference….. I tired a bottle of edge and went to nulon and there was a small difference which many would miss swapping from OEM fluids -> edge -> nulon fully synthetic

        • yeah i dont have a problem with castrol edge for $35 but thats any everyday price

i reckon it'd do fine in high end performance cars but for the same price, I'd get helix ultra

        • @tonyjzx:

Agreed, it's always cheap…. still have 4 bottles left over the last few sales (2* 5W30 & 2* 5W40) when it was $30….. 4 bottles of 5W40 Helix, 2L of Nulon… i really need to stop buying it when it hits $30 haha. Going to stop buying edge and only buy Helix, Penrite or Nulon from now on

I find it a little stange 5W30 Edge is only 'SL' when most others are 'SN'

missed the valvoline deal only because i hesitated not using the brand before…. =)

I guess my orginal point is that you can get fully synthetic group 3 stuff for cheap these days so for $27, semi synthetic isn't an amazing deal

          anyway back on WP haha
