    Most feeds wouldn't update in time. I was just here looking at another deal that caught my eye via a feed.

    1 hr maybe , 15 mins most people will not even see it. That is if you enforce the 15 minute window.

      +1 i really like the concept…

      i think if you offer a really good bargain for "too long" it ends up being sold out anyway, then people get stroppy for missing out and cry foul about "stock shortage, bait and switch, etc. So it's a lose-lose really…

      in any case, if it's a REALLY cheap item, they probably can't afford to let too many go at that price or have enough stock to allow it.

      good stuff 9289, i'm a fan.

          I also like the sound of the regular publishing of what the special will be.

          Would it work if you advertised the time of the sale as well or would that lead to the sell out + unhappy customers?

            @SomeGuyOnOzB: If the offer is only for 15 minutes, then people won't have time to buy anything else on your site to save on shipping, for example. I reckon an hour sounds like a better idea, at the very least a half hour.

    Well it has its advantages but the major disadvantage is that it does not give you a chance to make an informed/balanced decision. Surely, its a great price but you might look up another vendor with a different brand at better specs and wouldn't mind paying slightly extra and vice versa. Its a good bargain nonetheless.

        as an online sale store(getting online customers), 15min sale is totally unacceptable! what can you do in 15min if connection is slow? sometime when you add a product into basket/cart, the sale is over by then? what a waste of time, then the customer wouldn't even return!

        30min to 1hour seem better in real world, at least the customer who saw the bargain actually have the chance to grab it! or else your 15min deal is losing everyone's patient!

        I would suggest 1hour, but if 30min is what you can do best, then good luck? if you saw an post earlier on Ozbargain for Kogan LCD TV, 3hours sale is totally nice! a lot of people still missed out on them, but they think it's a good deal and supporting it!

    Went to have a look and I could not find the freight on this without registering :((

    Can get LG GH22NS50 SATA DVD Re-Writer (22x - Black) for $39.00 and a 5 minute drive to my local centercom store from people I know and who will not charge me for a redelivery attempt if no-one is at home at some vague delivery time. No cost for return for warranty either :)

    If freight is a typical $10.00 then why buy from strangers in another state who don't even have a freight calculator on their site. They also expect me to check their site every 15 minutes or so - sheesh!

      Apologies on the crit on postage - I have been on the web too long and so do not ever read banners and thus I missed the reasonably frequent statements of free postage.

      Also free postage makes this a good price deal compared to my comparison.

      Re delivery - I am retired and thus do not have a workplace and I certainly would not request any company I am associated with to act as a drop site.

          Thanks for your kind and charitable comment 'rep for Mega Cheap Hardware' - the depots are about 3/4 to one hour drive from my place and Melbourne traffic is probably a bit less enjoyable than up around the Sunshine Coast.

          Add the milage and time cost to the goods and they soon become less than a bargain. I prefer Epost which leaves them at the local post office where pick up is easy.
