Officeworks are selling Maxtor 320gb portable hard drives for $72.56
This price is "online only" but you could try and price match in store.
Wasnt going to post this but given the iomega deal I thought there would be a few interested ozbargainites out there.
But if you are in metro, the shipping is free..
tried calling up about these last week and NONE available in store.
also none available for delivery!
How does the maxtor one compare with LAcie and the iomega one?
looks to be sold out already, at least when trying to deliver to NSW
I don't recommend this make of hard drive. My personal anecdote here: I had one, it failed, I sent it in for warranty. I got one back (a "refurbished" model but presumably a different drive), that failed too. So I sent that back, this time they sent a Seagate drive (since Maxtor is now owned by Seagate)… that's been a bit dodgy but is sometimes useable.
Ugh..Officeworks and their crazy shipping of $30+ to anywhere slightly regional. There goes any discount unfortunately. Only way of getting around it would be price matching in store, if they've got one.
