I ate at Bombay Duck in level 5 Westfield yesterday. Meat was like rubber and the curry tasted like it came out of a bottle of paste that you find in Indian groceries

  That's usual.
  Most of the Indian outlets in Malls/Food courts are like that.
  They aren't fresh and serve stale food.
  
  One of the finest Indian resto close to Sydney CBD is Himalayas @ Surry hills.
