Reasonable price considering Amazon is about $121.84 AUD.

Don't really feel like its a bargain though- I think I paid $60 delivered for mine.

  • Great concept but I never understood why these became so popular… especially for their crazy high cost. Maybe I'm not enough of an 'outdoors' type but I find them really difficult to use and prefer to carry around a small, basic tool kit instead. Trying to turn screws with these things is just painful. I got a genuine Leatherman for my 18th then bought a few generic rip-offs over the years but all of them have ended up in drawers somewhere.

I bought mine over 3 years ago for a camping trip, it did it's job perfectly but I should have gotten a decent camping knife instead (Would have made cutting things easier). Ever since then I've had it in my room and it has been extremely handy. I use it at least once a week if not more, I use it for small job, here and there tasks (like taking off the side panel to my computer) were I would normally need to go down to the garage but this thing saves me a trip most of the time.

The main tools I use are the pliers, flat/Phillips head screw driver, knifes (two of them) and scissors have all that in a complact desgin in your draw is extremely handy. It might not be for everyone but it is definitely something that has become a must have for me.

My favourite is the skeletool. A plier, knife philip head and flat scew driver. the essentials. Gave it away when I went to Kashmir.
It was so good I had to give it away when I went on holidays. Will get another one soon.

    • The skeletool is a personal favourite of mine also.

  • Considering it's half the RRP, and you usually sell them at this point, what gives? How are you able to get them so much cheaper than even Amazon sells them for? Are they in any way seconds, or not 100% genuine?

    • Some of the other prices are insanely inflated, $219 for a Sidekick that retails for USD$49? Yeah, nah.

They are 100% brand new and authentic - exactly the same as you would purchase in a retail store. They are sourced from the US (where Leatherman tools are manufactured). Leatherman usually increase their prices in Jan every year - this is stock that was purchased last year at old prices.

      G'day Rep

Any chance of doing a deal on some Leatherman Raptors?

  • Not a bad deal. It's cheaper than buying from Amazon.
Amazon sells the wave ~USD$90 these days.

Amazon used to sell them around USD$60. I got one from amazon in the late 2013, only paid $54.99 + ~$8 shipping. Wonder why the price has gone up so much.

    • I am the same, I paid USD $55 for mine and is too expensive now

      • Never got an answer as to why these jumped in price at the start of 2014, they were steady around the $60 mark all the way back to 2008.

I'll hang in there until Black Friday sales, probably the only chance to get one any cheaper.
