I don't think this is anything new… they've always had a singapore stopover, and then you can add the holiday package on for $1. My booking was made several months ago, i did this.
It's a nice deal though, but they've had this for quite some time
I think the big difference with this deal is that 2 of the 4 hotel classes listed are **$1, whereas under the normal stopover deal, you had to pay a much higher rate for the hotel.
** Note - this appears to be for the first night only, and is only applicable to twin share.
That's what I thought but the free entry to Universal Studios and all the other attractions is a good bonus
it comes and goes, when I booked my tickets recently it wasn't $1 at that time. From memory it was about $50 per person at the cheapest option
The hotels are at the lower end of the scale. I checked a few last time I traveled, and they mostly had dodgy reviews. But hey, if you are on a budget, then go for it.
if you book the $1 accom and don't use it, you are still in front with the other bonuses.
Exactly what we did. ;)
Were you penalised in anyway for not turning up to the hotel? If you book one night accommodation, are you able to do all the attractions for one day or is it valid for the whole of your stay? I was just about to purchase the explorer pass but this seems a better option!
@KupoHo: It was valid when we went there, but check the current T&Cs to make sure. We actually stayed 3 nights. We often do a 3 night stay in Singapore after visiting other countries.
@KupoHo:
I just called Singapore airlines to confirm, the free attractions ticket only valid for the day you book the hotel. So if you only book for the 1 day, then that free ticket only valid for that day only.
I've already booked flights to Singapore with Singapore Airlines for the travel period - can I add the stopover on afterwards?
Yes you can, just log in to your booking on the website and you should have a button to add it. If you went through a travel agent, you may need to do it through them
Man, this is good.
Just right on time as I will be in Singapore in June. However the website is quite buggy tho, I got error all the time when I'm about to finalize the purchase.

Stayed at lavendar V hotel just back in April with the $1 deal. V hotel is not bad, it is clean and the room I had is mordern lookingish and typical small estate(just one night for snoozing right?)
Landed in the morning and went to santosa Island direction via train(only part we paid money to travel).
and the free journey starts, cable car to santosa. Went to universal studio, segway experience(1 loop and the loop is pretty small), luge and their cable car, and tiger tower.
Gardens by the bay with sia hop on and off bus and their skytower thing.
Best is it wasnt high season! So we didnt have to line up and most attractions we went to is like empty ish. But I am not sure about June though, that's the kids summer holiday for most part of the world. So good luck?!
yep just realized that June is school holiday sigh oh well, this is the only time I can get a chance to have holiday in Singapore with the famz.
Gonna make the most of it.
Anyone else wish they never had to stop in singapore or KL again in their lives….
Nope. These are the two places that we have our REAL RELAXATION TIME - especially if we have been visiting relatives in the Philippines. And 3 days in Singapore after 2 weeks in a bitchingly cold English summer was a lifesaver in 2013.
The wife is in shopping heaven in Sing and KL and I just kickback by the pool, do some street photos, have a coffee. We are already planning our next KL stopover and we haven't even picked our final destination, lol.i dunno what it but i just cant stand these places anymore. the second you walk out of changi airport you sweat like a beast. i did spend 5 days of actual time transiting over a 4 week period last year, i think that ruined me, and on one flight i had to fly from macau to brunei which went through kl-sin back to kl… what a fricken nightmare.
be nice to have a stop over somewhere new for a change. flight directly to europe would be sweet, dunno if they exist anymore…
i love Singapore
