    This is more of a technical question. As I was checking the specifications for HP G1610T micro server the memory type mentioned as 1R x8 PC3-12800E-11 (ECC).The link you pointed to Kingston 8GB RAM ECC is 2R x8.
    
    Could you please advice is the combination still holds good?

      It is mentioned by one of the members that "i can confirm that kingston 2x8GB KVR16E11/8I works without a problems with xeon e3-1270v2, but didn't work with celeron g1610t, which came preinstalled into my microserver gen8."
      
      I also found that G1610T works fine with KTH-PL316E/8G but could not see. Couple of days ago I bought the server from you and trying to build.

The bonus voucher conditions are incomplete. Just says "Minimum purchase value will apply". I'd like to know what it is upfront - if it's $55 for $50 voucher, that's pretty good, if it's $1,000, not worth it.

      Oh okay yeah that would be a good question then since they will email the details afterwards. Going by past deals like the log in get $10 voucher deal where you have to spend over $29 exl shipping. They shipped my memory card so I don't think it would be $1K.
      
      I personally view the voucher as a bonus if they have what I want at the time. I wouldn't buy things just to get a voucher. What sucks about it is that you can't use the vouchers for happy hour deals :(

Rumour has it a G9 / Gen 9 is finally coming, let's hope they consider a slight revision to the case shape / size for better airflow. The G8 will NOT take 6x7200rpm disks and keep them cool (it's bloody difficult to do with an N54L)
Yeah, I know, don't buy 7200's but I got lumped with them.

Anyone recommend a decent reasonably priced raid 5 controller for the G8?

Only place i could find a reasonably priced replacement xeon cpu was ebay, seeing the 1155 socket chips aren't being made anymore.

Knowing my luck the G9 will be released next week…
