You get a +1 just for that Intro…
Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Thanks.

    • +4

This is my 3rd time posting this item. It needed this intro :)

        • +14

How would Ozbargainers know if its on sale or not?

        • +14

@tuzii: But how will they know?????

  • +4

    Must resist..singing.. argghhh

  • How much is this normally?

  • what is the output Amp?

  • +3

    Mothers Day gift - tick

  • I got the same one for about $7 a few months back…

    • +3

I wonder how much time you have been on this site in a year, and how much you were saving as a result of the bargains.

  • I got one of these last week. One of the best features is the QI charging of the battery pack. QI output would be nice, but everything I've read says these sorts of battery packs with QI output are really inefficient.

    Worth the $10.

    • +6

Depends on how much QI you have. I am no Goku.

      • +5

Qi output levels are over 9000mah.

  • +6

I have no interest in buying this but had to give you a +ve for the description.

  • +1

Its not bad unit. Only downside is the 1A output and is slower when paired with the later phones that take 2A or the variable 9V fast chargers. Either way, still works though (but dont expect the battery level to go up when you are using your device at the same time as charging).

  • How is this different from those Xiaomi 10400 ? Maybe a stupid question.

    • +1

Xiaomi 10400 has a higher output current and has a higher capacity. Pretty sure its bulkier as well though.

    • This is smaller and fits in your pocket and only holds enough for one charge

  • i bought this in the last weeks deal and like someone writes above it does NOT do Qi charging of your phone, only Qi charging of the device itself…

i mistakenly thought that it did and now im a sad panda :(

its still a great deal though as its eneloop batteries and thus much better than the 20 or so vendor branded battery chargers ive been given at IT events/roadshows

  • So what's the actual model they are selling here? I see mention of QE-PL102, QE-PL103, QE-QL103 and with power ratings anywhere from 2650mAh to 2900mAh..

Edit: OK, guessing not the QE-QL103 as I don't think that has QI.

    • Model #: QE-PL103TA-K
      Catalogue #: PW8952

      • Yeah, I did see that. I guess I was directing this question more at those who have bought one previously. So the capacity is rated at 2850mAh as shown in the second picture?

        • +1

It is 2850mAH as confirmed by my box and booster. The cell is made in Japan.

    • QE - PL103 Does have QI for charging the unit only.

  • How do you select pickup? Can't see it. Thx

  • @ss281 Click and collect. Select your store.

  • i'm guessing these arent compatible with the iPhone?

    • +1

They are, you just have to supply your own Lighting/30pin to USB cable.

  • Any deal on eneloop batteries advanced/quick charger?

  • +1

That 1.0A charging… will take forever to charge up something if you are in a rush!

  • +2

very good battery. Got one last year it lasts forever. Compact and well built. But better for android than iphone users because of the micro usb plug. It charges the PS vita very well

    • are you charging a vita 1000 or 2000 with this?
from what I can find online other than you is that the vita needs 1.5 amps to charge and this battery only supplies 1amp.

      • it charges the vita 1000 with no problem, and very quickly. I guess it's better than it's advertised.

        • +1

          This is a shocking development!

        • Hey thanks for that.
I'll pick one up next sale then.
          Thanks again.

  • edit: no matter, just selected click and collect

  • How heavy exactly is this charger itself? (<50g?)

    • +4

      just weighed mine, it's 98g

  • What's the RRP for this one?

    • From memory when I looked it up it was about $30.

      • -8

        i bought one for $7…

  • +1

Bought one the other week. I get about a 50% boost in charge on my Galaxy S4 before it drains. Kind of a waste really. But at least it is tiny and holds charge for a while so I'll keep it in my bag in case I'm stuck.

    • Are you sure your booster is completely full before only outputing 50%?

      • It had been left on charge for a day. So yes.

    • +1

Got one and tried a charge of my Moto G after a full charge of the power bank (led had turned off)

With my USB meter connected it dumped 1680mah into my phone until it shut down (taking phone from 16% to 86% from memory)

Charging the power bank took 2595mah till it switched off)

I know I won't get the full 2850mah out of it but thought it would be more than ~60%.

Hopefully it improves after a couple of cycles, but these things have been discontinued by Panasonic, who knows how long they've been sitting around on the shelves. The batteries might not be in such great condition any more.

  • I can imagine that song being used as a TV ad or something haha.

You should definitely make a video of that and send it to DSE!

  • Anyone know the maximum output current?

    • 1A - stated in a couple of posts already above

      • Oh, sorry. I'm on mobile so I didn't see them.

That's going to be a very slow rate of charge.

        • Isn't 1A the regular rate for older phones?

  • Can you charge this with a USB and a wall charger?

    Thanks

    • Yes you can plug a wall charger into it.

  • Wouldn't a Xiaomi Powerpack to be better? Althought this is quite cheap not enough capacity

    • +1

The cable is integrated with this one, with the Xiaomi the included cable is detached.

    • The integrated cable makes it highly portable and convenient

  • Must resist as already going to get free mobile charger from kogan through MBA orientation from AIM

  • -1

is this the real slim shady

  • does anyone know how long they take to process click and collect?

    • Has been within a few hours previously, though guess might vary store to store.

    • just over an hour in my case..

  • Can you safely leave it overnight to charge.. I bought it and the manual says it has an indicator for remaining battery.. but all I see is a red dot :)
Can i just connect to a power adaptor (manual says charge via laptop….)
As you can see I failed electronics at high-school.. thank goodness I am in IT.. uh oh :)

    • +1

I saw a review, said LED is green for 100%-60, orange for 60%-30% and red below 30%. It will automatically turn off if no load is present or the battery gets too low.

As far as charging it should be safe to leave plugged in overnight. Once full it will just stop charging.

    • plugged mine into a wall usb charger, seems to work fine.

  • So many eneloop deals at DS right now, I was gonna pass but seeing they have the usual $14.95 price on the others I am gonna stock up! Come here you beautiful tropical bastards.

  • +3

    Bought two. Thanks OP

  • +1

This brings my 2100mAH Galaxy S3 battery to 99% through my charging dock. Amazing value, I even paid extra for shipping a few months ago but it has come in handy.

  • +1

    Got one - thanks OP.
Did anyone manage to pricematch anywhere else- colleague here wants one too.

  • After buying it found, although it looks cool, but cannot be used with the slim body laptops/notebooks, badly designed usb connector body.

  • Anyone got good results with this?

I only managed a 50% charge on this with my LG G3 which has 3000mah.

So this should have charged almost all of it. Maybe I got a dud?

    • About the same as I got in my test

Personally I think these things have been sitting around too long and the batteries have lost a fair bit of their capacity.
