    Orverall Rating

    5 out of 5
Be the first to write a review*

How do you get a five star rating without even getting a review?

    • It's the default value in a lot of chinese ecommerce shops. No review = 5 star rating.

  • Is it a genuine SJCAM or a copy?

    • There are just too many fake SJ4000 out on the market now that it is not worth buying one.

  • +4

These are not real sj 4000 they are cheap knock offs come on guys you know the Chinese even copy copys there is no sj 4000 stamped on right bottom half of camera be careful

  • It's really hard to tell if these are fake or not. Especially when there are different photos used. 1 with logo 1 without. But I thought I remember reading there is no such thing as a wifi SJ4000, only SJ5000's come with wifi?

But after saying that, I used a SJ4000 (non wifi model) as a car dash cam. They have a 'car mode' where it turns on and starts recording when it receives a charge from the USB, and turns off recording when the charge stops (car turns off). I just have to remember to clear the sd card every week or so.

    • There is a wifi version of SJ4000.

  • Pandawill has the originals:

I just got the SJ5000+ (Ambarella).. Works well and spec equivalent to the GoPro Hero 4 Silver.

    • SJ5000+ is so buggy and many users are disappointed with it. The lower spec SJ5000 (non-plus with Novatak processor) is more stable.

    • 4K?

      • No.. has up to 1080p/60Hz.

So not really equivalent then :p

The GP4Silver only does it in 15Hz. Thats arguably not even worthwhile doing for an action cam and most people who buy it only do 1080p/60 anyway.
The SJ5000+ does 16Mpix Stills compared to 12 on the GP4S.

        • i use 15 fos 4k more than any other mode.
It allows great quality still image to be pulled from my drone, I just have to hold the rough shot and I will find a good one when I move through frame by frame.

        • @wholistic:

Sounds like a reasonable use for it. Or alternatively, the SJ5000+ does proper 16Mpix Stills if you can get a steady shot (admittedly very hard to do on a drone with crosswinds and turbulence). Both have slight advantages and disadvantages in various areas hence at least for me its "on par" - not to mention the same Ambarella chips in them for the video/pic processing and a bigger Panasonic Sensor (1/2.33" SJ5k+ vs 1/2.7" on the GP4S).

Price difference is what drove me to the SJ5k+ - I cant really justify $400+ on the GP4S whilst the SJ5k+ is half the cost for similar performance and quality.

    • Geez are there enough models! /confused

      • Yep, lots of copycats and copycats of copycats out on the market at the moment.

        • Doin my head in… wanted to get something for a holiday in 3 weeks from now but NFI what to get from where… this thread has thoroughly confused me hahaha

          @Xizor:

          Follow this:

"Money is not a problem. I want the best" > GoPro Hero 4 Black (or Silver) - @$600 or @$400
If Money is important and you want value:
          "I want to do up to 1080p/60hz" > SJ5000+ @$200
          "I just want to do 1080p/30hz or 720p/60hz" > SJ5000 (Standard) or SJ4000 @$160 (SJ5000WIFI) or @$120 (SJ4000)
"I want something super cheap and can do without the LCD screen but still good value" > Xiaomi Yi Action Camera (accessories are all sold separately though). @$100

        • @bchliu: Good advice. Except skip the SJ4000 (unless you order from the official SJCAM website).

Banggood has original sjs or buy straight off sj. Last time I checked with sj there prices where on par with ebay or banggood if it has sj stamped in the right down the bottom of device it is the real deal

    • But do they sell it at AU$69.99?
