  • Shows $445 delivered for me

    • Oh its $453 if you want insurance as well

      • Ahh ok

      • Is insurance a necessity with DWI?

        • Peace of mind I guess sometimes worth the extra $8 kinda like car insurance you never know what could happen

I'm trying to wait for the G4… Stop tempting me with your deals

    • +2

Just wait - the G4 is vastly superior.
And when it's out and you disagree with me, the G3 price will drop.

      • meh

      • Apparently they went with the Snapdragon 808 instead of the 810 for some reason

        • +6

810 had overheating issues. 808 is probably cheaper too.
They're all so fast it doesn't really matter in the real world.

      • The G4 has a brighter screen and the best next generation phone camera.
Not a massive change over the G3 for a regular user. The G3 is still beastly, and under $500 it is an amazing deal. Wonder how low it will get in another two years - the best phone of yesterday in the $300s in the future.

        • +2

Better screen and better camera? Sounds like what most of the "regular users" I know are after =)
Of course there are actually other improvements too.

  • G4 is better. Google for battery life - one of the problems with the G3 :/

    • Well you overcome that with tweaks, eg. Greenify, root and uninstall bloatware.

Stick with Kit Kat, standby on 2.5% drain per hr how is that bad?

    • "Good" battery life is subjective.

As a Nexus 5 (1 day battery life with only 'essential' use), anything is an improvement.

…and if the G3 is similar to the G2 (which had the best battery life up there with the Z2), then the G3 is a winner.

      • Damn my Nex5 battery frustrates me..

    • +1

I've had my F400K (direct eBay import) since June last year and never had any issues with battery. I use Google Hangout to SMS/MMS my mates, Email checking, web browsing all day long, YMMV.

We just got back from a 3 week holiday in Thailand, there were only a couple of occasion when I needed to use my 2nd battery (came free with the Korean version of the phone) when we did day tour of the other islands with constant photo taking etc, I could probably have disabled some services such as location/GPS to maximize the battery. I brought my Canon 6D DSLR, but I ended up using the G3 for most of the photos.

"lowest ever price".. I got mine $394 shipped during 20% off kogan ebay + cash rewards. Although that was cos kogan accidently sent me 32gb instead of 16gb lol

  • Does this have a memory card slot?

  • I suppose this is worth the 200 bucks or so over the Zenfone 2?

  • +3

The LG G series of phones are so damn good. Probably the most underated phones on the market. I absolutely love my G2.

    • +1

Yer me too. G2 is still so damn capable I can't find a reason to justify the upgrade. :(

    • +3

Seriously underrated. Though I don't mind that not everyone has them. :)

Gotta love LG's underdog syndrome, constantly cramming the best screens and killer specs into the smallest chassis.

      My last 4 phones: Optimus 4xHD > G Pro > G2 > G3.

  • Hmm. Last year's flagship phone or this year's mid-range phone like this one here?

    • Wait for the G4 to be properly released here if you can. There is a spate of new devices hitting the market soon, so previous models will continue to run out. We've seen the HTC M9, Sony Xperia Z4 (Z3+, really), Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4, and a couple of new mid-rangers, all released within a short time of each other.

Give it a month or two and you will be spoilt for cheaper choice if you are picking up previous models.

    • And if you have to decide now - definitely the LG if they were the same price. Asus is about 25% cheaper - fair amount of cash for what is essentially disposable tech.

    • I'd go with the Zenfone, even if they were the same price. My mum has an LG G3 and I dislike it. I hate the LG interface - so ugly, and the random stutter is shocking.

Zenfone 2 is by all reports very speedy, comes with Lollipop (soon to be upgraded to 5.1), and has dual sim to boot. The only place where I'd see it falling short is the camera.

      • I just don't like the look of the Zenfone 2.

…The rear is like a cheap Chinese copy of the LG Isai, and the front is like a G3.

        i.e., no originality.

Its only dropped by 60 dollars since September 2014 through the Ebay deal at $504. Loving this phone. Will upgrade at LG G5 release. Funny how you tell people about this phone no one cares. But when you say its the same size as an iphone 6+ they freak out over how small it is.

    • The rate of price depreciation of newer generations of flag ships is slowing down.
Wouldn't the G3 be really big with a medium case?

  • +2

I'm looking at this phone, and really like it, but after I missed the deal for the s5: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/191898
I'm not sure I want to may more than $369 for a decent last gen flagship phone.
Can anyone help push me over the edge to justify buying this at this price?

LG G3 (D690) - GSM Factory Unlocked - Dual SIM Smartphone (Black or Wht) US$ 210+24delivery

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G3-D690-GSM-Factory-Unlocked-Dual…

    • So approx $298 AUD, but looks like it's the 8 GB model rather than the 32 GB model. 8 is likely to be too small, even 16 can be tight sometimes.

Also you'd probably want to check what the 3rd party ROM situation is like for that model number (e.g last dual SIM G3 I looked at was not supported by cyanogenmod, which to me is a deal breaker).

Also probably want to check whether the bands are suitable for Australian mobile networks - may be fine, but I haven't checked.

    • +2

That is a G3 Stylus, it is a mid-tier phone spec. Whereas the G3 on this deal is a 2014 Flagship.

      http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g3_stylus-6555.php

It only has a qHD display rather than QHD, and Mediatek Quad core compare to the Snapdragon 801 quad core which is much faster.

Would not recommend anyone buy anything from DWI. I purchased one of these phones and it was defective on arrival (screen would flicker and go blank intermittently) but they would not honour the warranty. I ended up filing a case with NSW Fair Trading and DWI have finally agreed to repair my phone after several months of going back and forth. They've now had the phone for repairs since 15 April and I haven't received a single update from them. I'm wondering if I'll ever see my phone again. It may be a good deal, but it's just not worth the headache if something goes wrong. Everyone is free to make their own decisions, but my advice is just spend a little more and buy elsewhere.

    • +1

Well is eGlobal any better than DWI?

      • I've never purchased from eGlobal before so can't really say. Reading a few posts on various forums tells me the experience with a lot of online Chinese sellers is similar when it comes to warranty repairs. From now on, I'm just going to spend a bit more to buy local and save myself the headache.

  • How long does it usually take for dwi to deliver the product? If I buy it now you think I'll receive it by friday in sydney?

  • Black and White seem to be $435.
    Gold comes to $445.
