iSelect $300 Savings Promise Promo Extended till 30/4

Hi all,
this deal is available by phone only 131920 - and I've got a $300 Visa Debit Card coming my way for my 20 minute effort.

I have Bupa Hospital and Extras cover and the iSelect TV add prompted me to have a go.
So, I had my Bupa self-service web page open with all my details including excess, monthly payment, and entitlements lists.
The 2nd operator then rattled through a number of questions, put me on hold and then advised me that I have a good deal with Bupa (being an Ozbargainer, I expected so) and that they could not better it.
She then gave me a Customer ID number which I had to register through the hard to find address below.

I'm still waiting for the confirmation email, with which I have to submit/attach proof of my Bupa account - so I've got that ready with screenshots and PDFs ready to fire back at them.

Was told Visa card can take up to 3 months to be delivered - but I can wait.

Worst case - they'll find you a better cover !!

  • What membership statement do they require? Is the rate notification number sufficient.

      Statement from your insurance provider with details like people insured, policy details including xtra and hospital cover, excess and premium amount.

    Spoke with a rep and they said "I was on the 'list' to receive email, don't know why it hasn't". I'm wondering if this is their tactic in minimising the number of claims and only those who are proactive will receive it.

      Definitely seems like it. Looks like iSelect got 'ozbargained' with this offer and they will try to minimise the damage by only sending out cards to those who chase it up with them.

      This mob are dodgy as and always have been.

      I haven't received my email confirmation yet as well so as per the advice above, will have to call them on Monday.

      • Called iSelect today as per the advise of fellow ozbarainers. Got an email instantly from the mob. replied back with my statement. Hoe it works now. fingers Crossed!

  • Like what other did, I called and the Rep told me that I should have received the email. He even asked to check the junk mail but I was sure that they never sent any email. Anyway he manually sent me an email and now I have to provide the membership statement. Wait and see what happens next !!!

        Its a good thing we're professionals.

        Maybe OZB could implement a reminder system for such promos with a 'gift card will be sent out in 12 weeks' - alerting users to follow up if they havent received their goodies?

    For people who don't like human interaction, I emailed them and got a response within 24 hours saying pretty much what everyone else has said, that I should've received the email but here it is if you missed it.

    Have replied to an email asking for my postal address - AFAIK "It's in the post"

  • Emailed and got the same response. Pasted the approval email in their reply to me which was good because I wasn't sure if I'd qualify. Yay

  • Yep apparently mines on the way too. Didn't get a survey though. They contract giftcardplanet.com.au to send out all the cards. Fingers crossed.

    "Are you sure you haven't received the email? Please check your junk mail."Told them I definately haven't received an email so they sent me one and I received it while talking to them. Have sent requested documents.
    Hope they honour their promise.

      I sent mine on the 11th and nothing yet :/

      • 11th? The promo finished end of last month

        • I had called last month and been 'approved' - on the 11th was the follow-up where they asked for proof of my current payments etc.

    • Have received no reply since sending in details of my current health insurance policy.. Wondering about the wording of $300 "gift card", will it be cash or will it be a $300 discount towards health insurance or something lol

  • They seem to have lost my details (fortunately I had a screen capture of submitting the form so I was confident I'd done it right).

    They want a membership statement, but I couldn't find such a thing for my Medibank Statement. Has anyone else with Medibank found something suitable to submit? (I wonder if a screen capture of the website is sufficient?).

      I emailed them yesterday, got a response today telling me that my entry is confirmed and that the gift card will be sent in 60-90 days. If you are feeling unsure, just follow up and you should get a similar confirmation.

  • A$$($&$& never sent the email or the card.. Bloody waste of time and looking at the comments I'm not the only one who didn't receive the email.

    • Supposed to be up to 60-90 days (by end of August).

  • I didn't get the email. Called them up, got the email sent by an individual who told me was managing the promotion. I replied to the person AND the promo address, and I got a direct reply telling me that I am now on the list of people who will be getting the $300 card from giftcardplanet, probably by the end of July, which is 90 days from the end of the promotion so it checks out.

    Having worked with similar promos, once you speak to the individual with personal accountability, I dare say you won't miss out.

      • I'm just saying if you ring them up and ask to speak to someone about the promo (having not got the email) you will end up speaking to someone in their marketing department, provided you remain persistent.

    Also make sure you activate it within 3 months or you will lose it all.
    Giftcardplanet will keep the money and won't help you if you try after 3 months.

    • How did you go? I tried to just 'withdraw cash' the whole lot at a wollies self serve today and was rejected. Worked OK for ~$5 of purchases though.

        ATM was a no go. Cash out worked at Caltex. I bought ~$60 of petrol and also $100 cash out (it was the most they would do).

  • I received a $350 gift card today too but I'm not sure what to do! I switched to the cheaper private health insurer iSelect found and paid the first months premium but then I had second thoughts and called my original provider who offered me a better deal. So I ended up staying with my original provider who I have been with for 20 years and used the 30 day cooling off period to get the other premium refunded. So I was very surprised to receive the gift card and am not sure what to do now!!

      It's a promo - they're not gonna ask for you to refund it. They probably aren't even AWARE of your change.

    FYI I was able to use the card to get cash out with a purchase at my local Caltex.

    • Tried to cash out $50 at Caltex - failed. Failed at Coles as well. Guess I'll just be dropping it on normal expenditure then

    Still haven't received mine. Anyone else in the same boat?

    • Had (as in spent) mine for over a week ago now.
      Ring them to check where yours is - or use the direct contact email you used previously.

    • I'd call them up. I shredded my card this morning having spent all $300.00 of its delicious free money in the past 2 weeks.

        Used the direct email a week and a half ago and was told to sit tight as they were sending them out in batches and couldn't track them.

        Have sent another follow up email today.

  • Received mine today after emailing them about 3 weeks ago. All they asked for when I emailed was a health insurance statement. Seamless process!

  • Myself and two other friends that registered for this never received a follow-up e-mail (we checked our junk mail folders as well).
    I called iSelect last week and was promised a callback from the team in charge of the promo, but no response as yet.
    I guess the next step is to email [email protected]. Will let you know what they say!

  • Received an e-mail back from iSelect today. Same story as above: I should have received a follow up email, but if I e-mail them a membership statement and my address they will add me to the final list of people due to receive gift cards.
    So if you haven't followed up with them yet do so asap!

    Now to play the waiting game…..
