No IMEI, No Problem!

While all our competitors require an IMEI number to activate your SIM card right before your travel date, WE DO NOT REQUIRE IMEI NUMBERS from you! This is because we don’t use third party activation portals, we activate via T-Mobile themselves. This means your card is preactivated through the most reliable source available, T Mobile themselves. Anyone who asks for an IMEI is using a third party to activate, and sometimes issues can arise from this. We don’t and this works out easier for all. Keep your private information in your own hands and avoid sharing this information where it is not needed!

  • No mention of tethering?

    • Hi coriander, good point! Unfortunately for this card tethering is not available. Post edited accordingly. Thanks!

    • Jailbreak your phone then install MyWi to tether any SIM

  • You've had this price for a while. Any chance of a better price?

    • Hi hellfire! We have had the sale recently, then had to mark it up to $54. Now we just got approval to bring it down to $49.

The price isn't always this price but we have worked hard to keep it low, in order to let people take as much advantage of the bonus 10GB data stash.

The price is as low as we can get it!

      • It mustn't have been $54 for long because it was $49 when I checked on the weekend :)

        • From what I remember it was $54 over the weekend but I am a very forgetful person haha!

  • Hi Rep - just wanted to check for those people that bought the unlimited sim card before it went down to 5 gigs, would they get the bonus 10 gigs as well?

    • +1

Hi bargainhunter8888, they sure do! That was one of the reasons why we hunted down and fought for something like this to make sure everyone still got an amount of data as close to unlimited as possible!

  • If we change our travel plans, is there any possibility of changing the activation date after we buy the sim?

    • +1

Sure is, as long as it is still pretty close to the original date. We wouldn't recommend buying one for say August 2015 if you might end up going June 2016 haha. Though you must let us know!

      • Haha definitely will be in the same month, just unsure about the day! Cheers for the prompt reply.

  • Heading to the US shortly and this would have been awesome but no tethering sucks. Any other good value plans with tethering ?

    • +1

Hi willoz, thanks for the feedback! At the moment no good valued products for tethering though we are working on a tethering product. Probably won't arrive in time if you are going very soon, sorry!

  • Hi Rep,

I had a look at the following [link] (http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/content/files/Prepaid_UIT…)

It does not list the 200 countries you can call unlimited (landlines) as per your website

    • Great pick up! Our description here is a lot more accurate. Whoops, not sure how that happened. Thank you so much :)

  • Such were the days when unlimited data was around $40. Oh well

    • The golden era! Unfortunately the prepaid mobile market in the USA has drastically changed + aussie dollar has gone the wrong way :(

  • Hey Rep. I'm travelling to USA/Canada in May/June. Can I use SIM card for both countries?

    • No just USA Wazzi80!

  • +4

I purchased an unlimited (which got downgraded to 5G) card a few months ago, and recently used it. My feedback.

    • I switched SIMs on the plane, and started receiving emails before I was even on the tarmac.
SIM must have been activated on time, and I have no idea how my phone had the APNs all set up. Either way, it was good to have it just work.

    • I was told tethering wouldn't work, except it did. I spent most of the time using a tablet tethered to my phone without a single hiccup

    • Reception was ok. I went to some fairly remote areas of Hawaii, in one location I only achieved 2G, for most of the travel I was on 3G, and for a few spots, I even saw 4G.
Speed was fine, it happily streamed plex for me.

    • Due to the change from unlimited, I had a few communications with TSIMDirect. They were always helpful and timely. Can not fault the customer service.

    Happy to recommend them.

    • Agreed these guys are great. Recently got back from a 3 week trip to California. As soon as I landed at LAX and put the SIM card in I received a text with my number. Coverage was great getting 4G /3G. Used for lots of calls including calling AU landline and used over 4 GB of data.

    • Hi BluBoy. Which phone (iOS or Android) were you using that allowed you Tethering?

      • +1

LG G3 (D858) and an SGS3 both worked fine with tethering (to a couple of kindles and a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4).
I don't know if it is something that normally works, or it was because they had just changed that rule, or if it was a combination of our electronics… For what ever reason it worked for us (in March/April).

        • Hi Bluboy, we believe it had more to do with a transition period from phasing out the service of tethering rather than your actual handset (unfortunately).

  • HI

Will an iPhone 6 (Australian - Telstra) work with the SIM and operate in the US?

    Thanks in advance

    Simon

    • Sure will

    • It will only if it is unlocked and not restricted to Telstra. If it is, you can easily make it unlimited by contacting Telstra and telling them you need it unlocked to go overseas.

  • All Telstra iPhones come unlocked.

    • Thanks

      Simon

    • How awesome!

  • Hi, so how much credit is there to make calls with?

and also is there an expiry after activation?

can this be used in an ipad?

    • Hi ynot1985,
Basically its unlimited calls and SMS within the USA to mobiles and landlines.
And unlimited calls to Aussie landlines and unlimited SMS to Aussie mobiles (Calls to Aussie mobiles aren't covered but can be added on via extra credit).
The cred it on the card lasts for 30 days upon activation. After 30 days there will no credit for calls, sms or data. The card itself can be recharged anytime for 12 months after activation.
      Hope that helps!

      • Thanks.

I use iphone 6 which is fine but my mate wants to use one in his ipad.. would this work for data for his ipad

        • This particular card is for phones only, so no to the tablet. Sorry.

  • I'll be in NYC in a few days so its too late to post the sim to me. Is there a way to get the sim in NYC for the same promotion price?

    • Unfortunately not. Usually locally its full retail in retail outlets. Sorry!

      • How much is full retail in U.S.?

        • $60USD Plan + Approx. $15 SIM Card + $10 International Calls and SMS Bonus = $85USD or $110AUD approx.

        • Thanks Rep! So $49 AUD is good value for 30 days?

        • @Wazzi80:
          We certainly hope so! Haha
In all seriousness we have worked pretty hard to be as streamlined as possible and cut as much overheads to be the cheapest but still be the most reliable. We think we have made strives and acheived both in this niche market :)

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

What networks are used in the USA? AT&T? And how is the coverage like?

If friends and family were to call me on this number from Australia, what's the cost to them?

Is there a similar plan to be used in Canada that you know of?

        • @Wazzi80:
America have 4 big carrier companies: T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint (no prepaid plans) and Verizon (no prepaid plans).
Between the two available to Aussies: AT&T has better coverage, particularly outside of major cities. Though AT&T is traditionally much more expensive!
I say traditionally because we are very close to finalizing and introducing to the Australian market AT&T driven services at great prices! :)
Don't know of any readily available Canadian sims with similar services at the moment.

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

Thanks Mr (or Mrs) Store Rep! :P

So I am little confused. Is the carrier T-Mobile or AT&T? Or is AT&T still in the works? Sorry if I am asking a dumb question here… lol

I will be in USA for 3 weeks. Will the service just lapse after 30 days if I don't recharge?

Also, is there an online service (i.e smartphone app) to track usage?

          Cheers

      • Bummer would have grab 2 if this offer came in a few days earlier

Anyone has an alternative recommendation with similar sim feature pack that can be picked up locally in the US specifically in NYC?

  • Hi Rep, How much is it to recharge the SIM?
It looks to be $US60 of the T-Mobile site. I will be in USA for three to four months. Would I be better off buying three or four of your SIMs? If so could I still keep my phone number?

    • It's up to you really Gman, both have pros and cons.
If you get 4 separate from us it will be a lot cheaper, though every 30 days you will have a new number.
If you get one and keep recharging it will be $60USD for the base plan + $10USD for the international calls and sms pack so $70USD or roughly 91AUD each month. Same number but a bit pricey!

  • hi i just ordered and i wanted to select express post as i will be departing sydneg on 28/4.
is there a way i can pay for express shipping so i can maybe get it tomorrow?

    phan

    • Thanks mate, got your email. Replied there :)

  • Hi. I ordered today via www.travelsimsdirect.com (12pm on 23 April 15)

Paid using PayPal. The PayPal receipt included an email address [ travelsimsdirect at outlook.com ] (related to "Roaming Abroad Proprietary Limited")

I have received no further correspondence from TravelSimsDirect to acknowledge the purchase.

When trying to email that outlook.com account, the message got rejected, due to "domain owner policy restrictions".

Store Rep, can you please follow this up? I do hope it is just a hiccup.

    • Hi victorteg. Roaming Abroad is our registered business name and Travel SIMS Direct is just a trading name.
The email shouldn't have bounced back. Other customers seems to be able to email us fine. Inbox us here and we will double check order for you!
      Thanks

      • Thanks. I have sent you a Message.

        • Thanks for the prompt responses!

  • Rep, do you sell any SIM cards for EU countries? Spain, Portugal, Netherlands preferably.

    • Something for europe is in the pipelines! When are you travelling there?

      • Around 2 weeks.

        • +2

PM us for a trial product for free!

  • hi Chris. can you please confirm that sim was sent out Thursday as i purchased this in Thursday AM with express post and today i didnt receive it?
confused as i thought express shipping was next day delivery if posted before 10am. i live in sydney metro area.
    thanks

    • I am also awaiting a dispatch confirmation.

    • Hi mate. Have you heard from them so far? I am yet to receive any further response.

      • Sorry guys! Was one of our busiest sales and the popularity this time around was a little unexpected. Some email confirms seem to have not gone through (maybe because of the influx).
Can confirm all orders have been dispatched :)

  • Hi, when is the next deal ;) ?

    • Not sure yet Anna. But the next deal may very well be on a new USA product. Very excited :)

  • Hi, I get the new number when I put the sim in after landing in the U.S. is that right? It's just that I read that I might get the number the day before - so that I can update all my booking contact details?

    • You do get the number just as you land (we activate on average 12 hours before you land-ish). You can get it a day or two earlier (we will activate early and email you the number) though your 30 days starts early obviously.

  • I have not had an email or an SMS on my phone using this sim. I am in the U.S. and need my phone urgently. What has happened, have I done something wrong? I have an unlocked phone iPhone 6 and have put in the
    New sim. No message. HELP

    • Hi Anna,
You have done nothing wrong. It very well may just be a glitch with T-Mobile's automated welcome SMS system or just a delay. In any case we have emailed and will PM you your USA number (don't want to publically post it!)

  • Hi Rep, same. I am in Hawaii and have the same problem.

There is signal, but error: your data plan does not work with this device.

We have wifi at the hotel for tonight, but will be out tomorrow!

    Cheers

    • Hey mate,
So over the last few hours have got to the bottom of a few things. From our end your SIMS have been successfully activated with USA numbers assigned to them. We have tried calling the numbers and it does go through. One number someone picked up (not our customer).
This weird occurance has only happened for a select few and all from the same date (it should be noted this has happened to USA locals with activations during the same time. T-Mobile is staying tight lipped but I suspect they may have activated the same number to more than one SIM accidently during a period of 1-2 hours.
We are so sorry and the timing and luck is awful. Will get to the bottom of it ASAP and promise to make it up to the small handful effected!
      Thanks.

  • Just got back from Hawaii and confirm that tethering was working just fine (without any APN hacks) on my Aussie-bought Samsung Galaxy S6.

I had 4G in most major cities, but pretty woeful HSDPA in remote areas. That said, when I was on 4G, I was getting in excess of 80Mbps downloads (Ala Moana mall).

  • Hi guys I just landed on USA however have not got the sms…been about 3 hours now
    using a iPhone 6 full unlocked…

    Don't even know my number…
    Data issue????
did however get it to work on my HTC m8
However Any attempt to go to a website results in "error your data plan does not work with this device"

Currently getting by jumping from WiFi to WiFi
