[MAC OSX] Money by Jumsoft - Normally USD $39.99 - Now USD $1.99 (AUD $2.49)

40

I dont have access to iTunes from this computer but the price is USD$1.99 so I guess it will be AUD $2.49.

This is the lowest price it has been since it launched on iTunes in September 2013.

    • They don't seem too bad to me. When I was looking for a finance app, at the time I recall it generally reviewing alright however it was a bit too costly and overly complex for the transaction tracking I was looking to do. I just wanted to categorise transactions and get a report out, not monitor investments, reconcile accounts and the like. Ultimately I found either Squirrel or Money Wiz better fit my needs, particularly from a UI perspective.

  • AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMERS LOOK HERE!!!!! You're standing in it if you buy this app!

It's a GRATE APP - meaning it's grating on my nerves. I'm giving this cr*ppy app 5 stars for pulling the wool over my eyes. Hopefully my review will pop up at the top of the list! It has an AU dollar value option but is totally incompatible with any banks or building societies in Austrlia. If you want to spend hours inputting all your bank transactions one by one, go ahead. I want my money back please. I'm LIVID!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS APP!!!! It's absolutely rubbish.

    • I found your review, LOL.

  • It's a shame if the app is no good, as it's hard to come by reasonable, low cost expense and bank reconciliation options that sync across iPhone, iPad and OS X. For a few dollars, I might give it a go hoping the recent post from their website about a new version of Money will be a lot better, and a free upgrade.

    • Give YNAB a go. I went through many versions of personal finance software after Money trying to find one that worked. I tried YNAB last because it seemed too basic for my needs, however once you start using it I found it does everything I want. Got it syncing across mac, windows and iphone all automatically and still happy 2 years later.

They do have referral links for a discount for new purchases. If you're keen I'll try and find it, although I've never used my link before. Just that impressed with the software!

      • Thanks. Not cheap tho.

        • +1

I've helped about four friends get up and running with YNAB. Most of them have recovered the YNAB cost within months.

This is because YNAB gave them a better understanding their money. One friend really got into it and was even able to pay off their car loan years early.

As long as you're interested in planning your finances with the YNAB method (https://www.youneedabudget.com/method), it's well worth it.

If you don't want to use the method, it's just nice software.

        • @Pez:

I don't have any debts or loans at the moment, but would look into it. Thanks!

        • @quarrymaster:

I don't either and my finances are in good shape, but the YNAB method has made me much more aware of my money. It helps me make better decisions, and I never get bill shock (eg. when rego comes in).

The iOS app is well designed, too.
