it looks like you could toss salad in one. I've usually seen them used to dry salad after it's been washed. Like the spin cycle in the washing machine.

  • Just use a pair of tongs. No need for a dedicated salad tosser…

  • These are excellent for taking water out of salads. I have been enjoying using them for many years. Don't understand what the little green thing on the edge are used for. don't really need to fix them do we? as we not spinning them over 1000rpm.

its good to have a dry crisp salad.

This is not a salad tosser guys, it's a salad spinner. Wash your salad leaves and they will still be covered in water, which takes ages to drain, or uses heaps of paper towel to soak up. Watery leaves is not so great in a salad, especially with an olive oil based dressing, cause it wont stick/coat to the leaves as well.

I will try to get to an Aldi to buy one, cause my mum wrecked our Zyliss brand one by warping it in the dishwasher. $10 is a good price, i think the Zyliss ones are $50-$60. Thanks :)

  • What doesn't everybody put the salad in an old sock and whirl it around, like Mr Bean? :) Sorry, just joking.

I have to see if there are any left later today. It'll be healthier for me to eat more salad if I can dry lettuce leaves easily. Must remember not to put the tomatoes in before spinning. :)

    • Or just eat the lettuce after washing it as is. Water is good for us!

This spinner is great for getting the water out of jocks/socks after hand washing them though ;-)
