80

Hi guys,

loooong time reader of this website and first deal posted so please give positive :)

I bought this morning from HT at north ryde the Lenovo S10-2 BLK. I went there yesterday to buy the previous version and the guy told me there is this one on order for $358.
I went back this morning there and I was lucky as they have received 50 at North Ryde this morning. so I picked up one and they updated their website last night "was not there before"
Apparently the difference between the previous version is that it is smaller and lighter but missing the expansion slot for whever needs it.

Cheapest on Static Ice is 424

Enjoy

  • Good price for a little netbook, but there seem to have been a flood of cheap netbooks of late so it's kind of hard to get excited about another one - I assume they're all trying to get rid of XP stock. Reviews of this netbook are OK, though not great battery life if you're planning on lots of use away from a power socket. See http://www.cnet.com.au/lenovo-ideapad-s10-339292968.htm

    • Hi baz123,

that user review is not really detailed. It looks like the high school kids whinging about their free laptop.
I also think it is the previous model "s10e" which apparenlty had a fan problem that was fixed by a Bios upgrade from IBM.

    • yes I think all the old Xp netbooks are being cleared to make way for the new wave (some without the atom processors such as the acer timeline)

I think $299 after cashback is the new " hot " price for netbooks these days as there has been quite a few deals at this price.

  • Has to be better than the s10 / s10e although slightly lower res but extra 3 cells in battery and n wlan could be worth it

which the overheat problem is not solved by the new bios, it is still ongoing.

Having said the above any one else have win 7 drivers for their netbook that was released with XP , have to love the lenovo web support etc

  • Gone / Sold Out it appears

  • sadly, I just thinking to buy it on shop this Saturday

  • I don't think they are sold out.
The laptop was not on the website yesterday. Probably give HT a call a Nroth Ryde and they might say they are waiting for order.
The guy told me that they order 150 and the received 50. Definately worth a try if you are after this laptop

  • COnfirmed it is available. Currently can't access it on web but can order it over the phone

  • Back on the website was probably down while they updated site
