    Display: 15.6" diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit (1366 x 768)

    :(

  • If them HDMI 2.0 and 4K 60FPS contents aint coming out in no time I would bite this deal like a sweet cake!

Still a great price considering that I can claim TRS in a few weeks. God this is tempting.

Too bad you didn't notice this yesterday, you could have got it for $614

Only if you leave them configured poorly.

I own one of the older HP Pavilions… used it as my main computer for 9 months when my last desktop died. No issues and even ran Diablo 3 great during that time. I still use it to game on when over at friends' place. The only reason why mine loads up slow is because it's not using a SSD. It probably loads up in the same time as my old desktop with WinXP.

The usual window maintenance theory applies… don't install excessive programs, keep a decent % of the HDD clean, keep the registry clean, etc. And definitely take off the bloatware.

  • I think older generations (when they were within ~1 of the current gen) used to be $499 (50% off) at HN during their sales.

    • Same with the better DSE sales. Got mine for effectively that price (was a bit more expensive because I wanted extended warranty).

Would this be capable of playing any recent games on?

My 4yr old HP Pavilion runs Diablo 3 on med settings just fine if that helps as a comparison. Starcraft 2 runs fine too, as does Bad Company 2.

  • even the CPU is 4th gen, it is not powerful than the 3th Gen 'M' CPU.

if you were purchasing for gaming, i would suggest you to give up no matter how good the deal is, eventually you wont be able to play the game.

In terms of GPU, it is 64bit. GTA V, etc? no way~!

the laptop is just for daily basic usage . So i think it is not worth the price tag.

Almost $700, you can just go for assembling a more powerful desktop mate~!
