Including delivery it comes down to $141.41USD. That's about $186AUD. Maybe add that to the title.

exchange rate really kills it, didn't realise how low the aussie dollar is, 76c.

Lol have you been living under a rock or something? It's been like this for a month or two now

      • nah I've just been avoiding deals in USD haha

  • Very good price,

    I think I'll get one…

    how about this one?

    http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expansion-Desktop-External-STB…

any difference? apart from looking different?

    thank you

    • think the only difference is the one I posted is a newer model of the same thing.

  • Any ideas if there's and AUstralian standard power pack included. Last two drives I bought from Amazon came only with USA adapters. Apart from the inconvenience, I was confronted by another $15.00 for each.

Why dont you just bent the ll plugs to /\ with simple pliers?

      • ?? Really? I thought the USA is on 110volts?

Or are the power packs auto voltage detecting?

        • Pretty sure all those power packs are 100-240v compatable.

        • +2

          Yea, you're right - 100v to 240v auto adjusting.

However, I'm a little wary of the pin bending thing. It would leave the terminals exposed between socket and plug. I'll make it a rainy day project since I have two of the power supplies at hand.

          Thanks

        • @GuiGuy:
buy an adapter. Costs around $2

        • @outlander:
Yea, gotta internationale travel elektric adapter thingie somewhere…

        • +2

@outlander: Problem is, many of the cheap adapters fit very poorly. It's because Australian pins are thicker than US/HK ones.
Someone could make a fortune by designing/selling a cheap adapter which actually fits :)

        • @Make it so:
I had no problems with the BIC ones. Very snug fit, and cheap.

        • @GuiGuy:

just make sure you use two needle nose pliers and once you got a good bend then you can use shirnk wrap to cover the exposed part.

          that;s what I do.

          good luck.

    • I ordered a 2tb Seagate expansion HDD from Amazon and the power adpater it came with had international clips for the different plug types, including an Australian one. That was a few years back though.

  • Thanks OP. Just ordered one.

  • bugger. added to cart, did a little more shopping to make the shipping worth while. Sold out.
