OzGameShop Receive 20% Back in PlayerPoints

180

No exclusions. Arguably not a true 20% off as the 20% is converted into non-refundable 'store credit'. But as a regular shopper this will not be an issue.

Maximum off is $20

Example: Buy GTA V for $70 and receive $14 worth of player points.
Annoyingly, (I'm assuming) the process for redeeming player points into usable vouchers is in tiers eg $5, $10, $15 etc so getting $14 of points will only allow for a $10 voucher unless you have some points already or earn some in the future.

That's not OFF at all, there is no discount in this deal.

    • +1

tbh, I kind of agree. It's a stupid tactic, in reality the discount is off your next purchase. Which would mean only 10% off both orders… wow, the more I think about this the more I wont to unpublish this deal :(

      • +3

its an epic deal, they already have the cheapest console games with free shipping mostly, then you get a massive discount on your next purchase, i think its an awesome idea

        • +3

Yes, you get 20% off your next order, but 0% off this order. It is essentially forcing you to make another order. As stated above, it is for Ozgameshop regulars.

        • @CyberGenesys:

well if you shopped in ozgameshop a few times you will probably make a purchase again (with the player points it might even be free) :3

        • +1

They very rarely have the cheapest games anymore

        • -1

they dont have the cheapest prices. They just have a lot of cultists. I gave cybergenesys the neg he wanted to put on here, and surprise surprise 24 negs on it they remove it.

Lovely people hey, reminds of a guy who made a youtube video when they screwed him over on a product and order and he got harassed by all their supporters, another guy went on the checkout tv show after they screwed him and you should have seen the crap he copped and the people defending them, despite the fact they were in the wrong.

This deal is extremely average. I wish people would stop defending them.

find dark souls 2 at a cheaper price on ps4, or far cry 4, all there preorders are pretty much the cheapest for console games, its a brilliant incentive for your next purchase, dont know what you have against them i think theyre a brilliant company, if you have alternatives let me know…

Also the deal is still on as of this morning, love me some player points

          @Dany34:

I always get my games from gumtree. New release go for 50 bucks max =)

      • Lol, sorry man.

The only good deal I can see is for Far Cry 4 currently at 47 (but 38$ with points back)…

  • It also works on all preorders, which is pretty cool

  • +2

Signed in to say on the website it says up to a maximum of 20 POUNDS so you could always argue the point to get more back if you're doing a larger purchase, doubt you'd be successful.

I'm sucking it up and getting a new copy of Bravely Default before they disappear, and Carcassone revised edition board game for the lols. adds up to $95, then 4% cashback at cashrewards ;)

OzGameShop's Player Points can be a pretty good deal. If you check the 'Points Offers' page under their Specials tab they often sell things that give way more than the usual rate of points-per-dollar. I bought an SSD once that gave 27,000 and change. Only problem then is buying a $50 game with a $26 off voucher and getting kicked back under the free shipping threshold :P

    • Oh? That's useful to know. So the calculation for free shipping is done after discounts are applied.

    • Actually they recently updated their player points system and now there is a larger minimum spend where as to before it was much lower (I believe there wasn't even one plus the free shipping was still active). I have about 25000 points saved up but if I wanted to use all of it, I would need to spend at least $80. $26 vouchers and below are more worth while.

      • Yep, the $26 off $50 min spend one seems to be the way to go for most purchases. The biggest one, $75 off $150, is probably the best value overall, of course, but you've obviously got to be buying a lot of stuff.

  • Doesn't look like GTA V PC is available?

Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (DirectX11 edition) CDKey for Steam is only $38. That's the cheapest I could find, and I got credited $7.80 worth of points.

at the risk of being abused by their cult im taking a bath on this one

  • I got risk and settlers of catan board games, and will prob sit on the points til xenoblade comes out. They points always seem to be pending for quite some time before they come through though which is annoying.

I love how you say anything negative about ogs, you instantly have their cultists attack you with their keyboards…

I can understand why people don't shop there anymore with high prices/slow shipping/terrible service, but if you're going to have a rant (and neg a deal), at least attempt to make it coherent (and make sure it meets voting guidelines)

      • it is mate, as its been pointed out this isnt much of a deal, its entrapment to make you make another purchase.

        • m8, if you are going to downvote and attack the company, at least provide some justification and context. I can't take someone's complaint seriously when it just comes off as bit of a whinge.

        • @cathole: DSE have been offering better pre-order deals with 10 down 10 off most of the time.

Not complaining about their terrible service, and im not attacking them as a company, it is simply a crap deal.

Its the same as if a local company here offer you a 10% off voucher on your next purchase if you purchase something from them at full price.

It's not really a deal it's a loyalty program and not a very good one.

        • @acex1138:
It all depends on what you are buying. Certain products they sell are cheaper than the shops here by a considerable margin. For those that shop more than once, its a good deal.

        • @Expon: not really, every ps4 game I have purchased recently from dick smith 5-10 to even 15 cheaper than them, and book depository destroys them on x-wing prices.

        • @acex1138:

I have looked at some of the board game prices and they are competitive. I am not sure how it will be packaged though.

        • @Expon: book depository, will change your life lol.

I put together my entire x-wing collection for 1/3rd of the price it was gonna cost via OGS or from the local hobby shops.

          free post on everything too.

  • Can I make two orders and get points for both?
