Stumbled across this yesterday, called up and I was the first person to call (they didn't even know about the offer). Needless to say, I know I'm in the first 50 subscribers. Minimum home delivery is the Weekend West for $2.95/week. Lady on the phone said it's best to apply online.

Yes it's a gamble you're in the first 50, but it's not an expensive gamble. And you don't get a choice between the 2 screenings, they'll pick for you. And they're "Preview" tickets, the show is the day before official opening night (don't think that should have any effect on professionals!)

To be eligible for one of fifty (50) double passes to Wicked at Crown Theatre on either Wednesday, May 6 at 1pm or Wednesday, May 6 at 8pm, valued at $288.00 per double pass, new customers must subscribe to any home delivery package - The West Australian and/or The Weekend West before 5pm Thursday, April 30, 2015 and quote the applicable offer code: WICKED either by calling 1800 811 855 or online at subscriber.thewest.com.au/wicked.

  • How long do we have to subscribe for? Can I just subscribe for one week to get the tickets then cancel my subscription?

    Nevermind, I re-read and it says "any home delivery".

  • There's no requirement for subscription :) Subscribe until you get the tickets in your hand

      • No, but I did just apply about 5pm yesterday. Haven't told anyone else tbh! And given the ladies on the phone hadn't heard about it, and the site wasn't in google cache, I think it's safe to say I stumbled on it on day 1.

        This was on my email after subscribing:

        Within 3 business days your home delivery subscription will commence and your first invoice will be issued. Should you have any queries, please Contact Us and our friendly team will be happy to assist.

        If you are among the first 50 subscribers you will be notified shortly about your free double pass.

        about 30 mins before I posted that.

        I actually only spoke to subscriptions who said she believes there were still available.

        I was waiting on marketing who ran the promo to call back when I called at lunch time but they never go back to me, so call back at about 5pm.

          I signed up around 10:30 am on 1st April, what time did you sign up ChronoSphinx?

          I just received another promotional mail in post on Friday asking me to subscribe at $2 per week (weekend west), which is significantly cheaper than this ($2.95). Will call up to cancel my current subscription as there is no point to keep paying for the higher rate subscription and get nothing.

    Ok called, Chrono may have slipped through the cracks on this.

    Apparently what's happening is they're waiting until the 30th April to determine 'winners', to make sure they're eligible, and sending information then. As I said to them, if that's the case they're cutting it damn fine, with 6 days to receive tickets!

    Already booked for that day off, I'll be pissed if it goes pear shaped!

    • That is strange! I did ask about the tickets when calling about the first missed delivery.

        Also come to think of it I didn't get my paper unless someone stole it :/

        • Nope, not yet.

          If you didn't get your paper delivered or if it was stolen, give them a ring and they will basically credit your account for one delivery. If you call them on the day you are expecting the paper, they will check if the deliverer is still in the area and you might get your paper on that day. At least that was what I was told when I didn't get my paper one week.

    "Unfortunately we won’t be able to tell you as of yet, as we will have to wait until the end of the competition – 30 April 2015. You will then be advised if you have qualified."

      Up to you if you wanna do like I did and get the day off now!

      Also means it's probably only gonna cost $12-$16 for these tix ;) (4-6 weeks worth of papers)

    Thanks OP, but I scored 16x8 packs of bog roll from the Woolies deal yesterday, so that should last me a while. This would be a good deal for anyone else who needs something for wiping.

  • Got phone call last Friday to collect tickets at their front desk. Was told tickets are randomly allocated, couldn't tell me session time. Picked up tickets yesterday for 1pm show.

    Oh…My…God!

    Here I was wondering why I didn't get the paper. Turns out some idiot blocked it on the 4th April (probably after I called and said I didn't get it, and asked about the tickets). I paid my invoice on the 1st May, and noone called to tell me I had just credited my account.

    So called just then to cancel, she said it's already cancelled, and oh by the way we need to refund you the $11.79 that's in credit!

    End result, free tickets :) woooo!

    • Thanks for sharing the deal! I liked it better than Les Mis a few months ago, even with better seats. I was most likely seated next to an ozbargainer with his/her partner as they brought their own snacks/drinks lol. (as did I)
